Rain - too much, or not enough

I planted my new palms today, after re-digging the holes my neighbour so thoughtfully filled in. I had the sprinkler on the spot for half an hour last night, making sure that the ground stayed moist and easy to dig, and then we had rain overnight and this morning as well so it was lovely and damp. has the rain left it feeling any cooler or is it still hot . We had snow in the week but that has now melted and we are now experiencing freezing conditiins overnight but(and fingers crossed) it's meant to be slightly milder next week.

Still hot -the sky clears by mid morning and the temps are still in the early 30s. Not as hot as down south, though; Adelaide was baking at 46C last week. Brisbane is a much milder climate, warmer in winter and cooler in summer than Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney, when looking at extremes of temperature. But the humidity is a killer.
