Up early today (early for me, at least, for a Saturday) to go with son's girlfriend to pick up her wedding dress. She is going to be such a beautiful bride! She was so excited she couldn't eat breakfast - imagine what she'll be like when the day finally arrives. And her dress won't be home with her for too long; it's going to need alterations ( Read more... )

Isn't it supposed to be spring, down your way? :-/

I was wondering who was Mitsi!

Yes, it's spring, and late spring / early summer are the worst time for storms and practically the only time we see hail.
Sorry for the confusion. :-D

Didn't know that...

And here, we're bracing ourselves for winter :-/

So when do you typically have thunderstorms and hail then?
We have days that start out impossibly hot; at 7am yesterday already the sun had bite and by midday it was around 35 degrees. You could feel the tension in the air though and the storm was no surprise.

Wow! That is crazy. Your poor car!

It was mental. Luckily only two dents in the car, and one is the dead centre of the roof so only noticeable if you're standing above it looking down. Get more damage than that in a shopping centre car park so I consider myself very lucky indeed.

What a lovely time for you and your family. ♥

I was reading about your vacuum woes thinking "she really needs a Dyson with all those cats" and lo and behold you already have one. *g* Glad it turned out to be a simple fix.

Those hailstones are amazing.

It's very exciting, yes, with the big day getting closer all the time.

I saved for months to buy that Dyson, it's the best machine I've ever owned. Should have bought one years ago and saved myself a lot of effort.

The hailstones were pretty amazing. My neighbour had eleven roofing panels on his back deck damaged in the storm and there's shredded vegetation everywhere.

Oh my, that is spectacular! Hope your car is okay.....

And I think it is lovely that you went with your son's girlfriend to get her dress - bodes well for your relationship with her!

It was pretty spectacular and the noise was fierce. Car could have been worse, only two dents and one of those can't be seen unless you're standing up above it looking down at the roof.

I feel very blessed to have such a lovely young woman coming into my family. She is amazing and awesome and I am so very glad my son found her (and so is he, of course!).
