That's brilliant - love the lift! Why aren't all lifts offered like that? Hee for dalek feet... *g* What a very cool thing for a library to do - I've never seen anything like that over here (not that they can afford extras like that these days, we're lucky they're open at all...)

Oh I agree, all lifts should be decorated like that! I was surprised to find out just how many additional services the library offered - lots of activities for people of all ages.

It was totally fun, there was a small orchestra playing the themes from sci fi shows as well, and a talk on costume design and creation from a guy dressed as Gimli. Awesome.

Wasn't it just, it was really fun. Some of the costumed people went out onto the footpath and were waving at cars going by; I wonder what the drivers were thinking!

you sound like you had a wonderful time ...did you know that sir Ian mckellen used to live in Wigan , where i live and what inspired him to become an actor was watching the people of Wigan doing their shopping in the Market ..just a bit of local knowledge *g*

Weren't they brilliant! The dalek was buzzing around all day; it was funny to see the lift, decorated as a TARDIS, open up to disgorge a Dalek!
