Annual General Meeting of our cat council today and I've come home with a huge to-do list to work through, so here I am doing anything but. Ah committees, we always say we'll never serve again, but... *g*

Cinemas here are open on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day so I always just assume they'll be open even though I'm not going to them myself.

Never again never happens, does it? *sigh* Ah well worse things happen at sea. Or so I've been told.

I didn't want to assume about the cinemas, as just about everything else is shut on Anzac Day. AND this is Queensland, where Sunday shopping was only introduced shortly before I moved here in 2004. Brisbane may be a city but it still has the feel of a large country town (except in the large country town that I moved here from, the supermarkets were open 24/7. Here they shut at 9pm Monday to Friday, 6pm on Sundays and 5pm on a Saturday. WOT?)
