Pecularities of State Relocation

* My car's officially a PA resident again, and my driver's license is taken care of, too. It's weird- when I went to NY, they had DMVs there that would take care of everything at once, license and registration. In PA, you have to go to two places: a driver's license center, and then AAA for anything else. So I ended up becoming a AAA member too ( Read more... )

god it's so funny seeing youy post stuff about moving to pa when i'm doing so saturday.

I was wondering what to do with the holes in the front of my car too. lolol. when I go to toyota next time I might ask them if they have something for the inside of the mount I could buy/have/whatever.

my mom works for the dmv so i'm hoping sending her the plates to bring to work will be okay lol

I've already gotten used to the beer thing and I haven't even moved yet! lolol. Last time I was there though I found out how much you could buy at once. But the place I went to getsa around it by letting you buy everything separately and put it in your car before continuing.

Do you know where Mr. Small's in Millvale is? I have a concert there the 21st and am already dreading parking. lol

Good luck with your move! =D One thing to keep in mind: PA wants proof of PA insurance before you can get your PA registration, but insurance companies want you to complete your registration before they'll issue insurance for that state. Very screwed up! What you can do, though, is call your insurance company and have them send you ID cards that have Pennsylvania at the top instead of New York. They can even fax them, so you don't have to do this too far in advance. I just wouldn't want you to end up where I did- getting to AAA and not having the PA insurance cards they were looking for, heh!

Unfortunately, I don't know Millvale terribly well, but it is pretty close to Shadyside if you wanted to stop by and say hi afterward! I hear you about parking- 'swhy I'm thrilled our apartment has its own parking space, heh! ^_^

I CAN'T parallel park, it's impossible for me :-/ So definitely afraid of the parking situation. It will probably be pretty late when we get out, but if there is time, TOTALLY. :)

Ugggg thanks for the warning! So pa wants proof of insurance before registration but insurance wants registration before insurance. lololol dear lord. Luckily Bri has been through all of this too lol.

Heh. I'll have to relearn everything once I get back to Illinois as well. I've adjusted to dealing with the peculiarities down here. :p ( ... )
