Yay, thank you! Honestly writing the older generation as younger, and Haymitch's distinctly K/P/G triangle of his own, was a blast. And yeah, if he saw that happen to everyone he was close to--Armeria and Persil don't make it much farther either, up to about the Victory Tour--Haymitch would probably wise up on the not-getting-people-he-cares-about-KILLED front, and distance himself from the town to become the hermit we know him for in THG.
And thank you about the writing, too, it turned into such a lyrical piece, somehow! I'm glad you like it!
This was incredible! You weaved this sad tale together beautifully. I love Haymitch as a character, and this glimpse of his past that you've fabricated feels like it could easily be from a chapter in one of the books. Amazing.
Thanks so much! I love this piece, not going to lie, and I tried really hard to make it mesh with the canon and its tone. That's always one of the most flattering comments I can ever get on my work.
:hugs: Thank you so much for commenting on this, and so much for believing in the OCs and the tone. It was a pleasure to write but I can imagine it's a hard one to read, considering the content, and I'm really grateful.
I love writing Snow. I'm not going to put any disclaimers or dampers on that, I love writing Snow. He's a bastard and completely unrepentant and still not magnificent enough and it is a PLEASURE.
