“We don’t know yet. Lots of time to decide! Lots of cool possible angles!”
Ooooh! I'm very interested to see what you're going to do with that... *grins*
Once you turn face, then I can be a tweener: you know, edgy dark lone wolf with a heart of gold? That's my scene, man!"
Clark looked at the sunny smile on Conner's face and had his doubts that "edgy" and "dark" really suited him, but kept them to himself.
Hee! *pets them both*
For a second, surprised delight blazed across Conner's face. Then he seemed to remember he didn't need Clark's approval and tried to look casual instead, keeping his voice nonchalant. "Thanks, man." He shrugged. "If you've got any tips, I might be willing to listen to them. I suppose."
Eeee, Conner!
"Well, Bruce will be back soon," Clark said reassuringly as he headed for the locker room. "Even if he isn't able to wrestle, he'll be around again, and that'll help."
Dick blinked at him. "Uh, that isn't who I meant,"
CLARK. *hearts him*

I am too, actually! I can't imagine Lex as anything other than greatly bemused, but...
I don't know if "Aubergine Avenger" is canon, actually! I know it gets used by fans for her a lot, so I suspect she came up with it herself in canon?
Oh, that made me giggle! :D
Lex having no patience with Clark is really fun to write! He doesn't get many chances to just be drily snarky in the comics, but the few moments he is are always my favorite...
Poor Jean Paul...I know he's a villain at this point, but I always feel for him...

ALFRED.
“He’s gone now, but Jean Paul’s still fighting him every day,” Bruce said. “Trying to prove himself to a ghost. Man hands on misery to man indeed,” he added softly. He drained his cocoa and reached out a hand to Clark. “Help me up,” he said. “I have to get back to rehab. I don’t think we have much time left.”
Bruce! *pets him gently*
Oooh, this was a really interesting chapter, seeing how everything has started to fall apart without Bruce and Clark there... I can't wait to see Bruce come back - and yay for Conner, Steph and Cass! :D

Diana is keeping things more or less together with the female wrestlers, but there's only so much she can do (annoyingly!) because a lot of the guys won't listen to her...grrr.
It's really fun to be writing the younger generation at last! But it'll be really fun to get Bruce back in action as well!

AWWW Conner! :)
“But it’s just not my jam, you know? My thing’s going to be that I don’t want anything to do with you, right? Like, I’m your clone but I want to be my own person, not your shadow.”
Good

Wow
Clark looked at the sunny smile on Conner's face and had his doubts that "edgy" and "dark" really suited him, but kept them to himself. "I've been watching your work for the last few weeks. Your in-ring technique is great."
Sweet. :)
"You think so?" For a second, surprised delight blazed across Conner's face. Then he seemed to remember he didn't need Clark's approval and tried to look casual instead, keeping his voice nonchalant. "Thanks, man." He shrugged. "If you've got any tips, I might be willing to listen to them. I suppose."
:lol

I did like that Clark inspires Bruce to keep in touch with everyone--it's not like he's nagging him, but he just feels more talkative. Eventually the kids all have to find out where he lives, too!
Ouch. That was harsh.
Jean Paul has a tough story arc, and he falls apart a LOT when he's Batman! I've always felt really bad for him...
And his backstory is basically a real one--there's a famous wrestling family called the Von Erich family--there were five brothers, and all but one of them is dead now, just like I described. It's about the saddest story in wrestling...

Yes! I'm so glad you picked that up, because he is quietly trying to make sure Clark and Bruce don't burn out entirely...
Ivy and Harley on the outs! Mistah J., you're bad! ;)
Ooooh, grrrr. I have to show them making up later!
Poor Dick. He's a natural leader but he's constrained by Bruce's choice. And poor Jean-Paul. He's a lot of messed up but is trying to do the right thing. *sighs*
I'm actually really enjoying (in a sadistic sort of way) the rising tension between Dick and Jean Paul. The Prodigal storyline plays out really well in this context!
Diana must be having SOME success in the women's locker room, though Ivy and Harley are a definite failure. She is, and we'll be hearing about that in the next chapter! Yeah, the problem with Harley and Ivy is that no one is keeping the ( ... )
