Typical Bruce, going off alone and keeping the people who love him at bay. *sighs*
I liked the choreography of the match. The chaos and Clark's jumbled feelings come through very clearly. And of course you know I like this:
Far up the ramp, Nightwing was crawling toward the ring--he was supposed to be out cold, but not hell itself would stop Dick Grayson from being there for Bruce if he needed him.
The Dynamic Duo's flawless teamwork always thrills me. :)
What a way to come out! Poor Clark. Anyway, I'm glad that Dick and Diana were with him at the hospital.
Nice distractions going on to keep the crowd's attention off Bruce. And Bruce wanted to go out a winner. :) The Kryptonite bit was priceless! :)
Very well done! One of your best yet. :)

Yeah... *sighs with you* To be fair, Clark has shut him down when he's tried to open up, too.
Dick insisted on being part of the match as much as possible! You know he's terribly worried too...

I'm not positive how many people in the locker room fully realized what Clark was admitting there! Some already knew, and some guessed it then, but not everyone...
Bruce insisting that he had to win in Gotham made so much sense...I wasn't sure Clark would respect that, but he has to if he loves and respects Bruce, I think...

Oh, oh, Alfred! And Leslie too! Oh... *wibbles*
Sandy Hawkins, former “Golden Boy” and valet for the more famous Wesley Dobbs. He hadn’t quite made it as a wrestler, but Luthor made sure he still had consistent work as a referee.
Oh, Sandy! Yay!
They could all celebrate pulling off a match for the history books backstage, and Clark would meet Alfred and then make sure Bruce got at least twelve hours of sleep after icing all his joints.
*wibbles*
Later, Clark would be able to find the moment where everything went wrong, but even the most meticulous, the most agonized, reviewing could never give a clear answer as to whose fault it was. On the recording he could see how the Dark Knight’s weight shifted just the tiniest, key fraction, but whether Bane’s weary grip gave way or Bruce’s exhausted body was unable to hold the right position, Clark could never tell, no matter how many ( ... )

I've been wondering--is this the first time Alfred's ever come to a show? It's the first time Bruce has mentioned it to Clark, but maybe he's come now and then? I haven't quite decided what Alfred's opinion is about Bruce in this world--in canon at least the risk to Bruce is balanced by the fact that he's helping people! But I'm sure Leslie approves Not at All!
There's a referee in the actual WWE who has this lovely floppy pale bond hair, and so I was kind of imagining him, and I realized I had to give him a canon hook because he's really important in this match!
Switching back and forth between the match and Clark in his hotel room, watching the tape, was...really painful! I don't know quite how I wandered into that structure, but ow.
Oh no, poor Clark... And Bruce, meeeep!
Bruuuuuuce, noooo. D: I have to get writing the next chapter soon! So much aftermath to deal with...

I loved that tribute to Sandy! He had such a sad fate in canon. :( He and Wesley Dodds (the Sandman) made quite a pair! :)
