I like how the impressions from the belt really mark Clark.

Diana's crushing of the booker's idea was fabulous! I could just hear her steaming through this little recitation. Ha! She and Clark as an item just wouldn't work, and their brother/sister relationship is exactly how I see them.

I'll admit I thought the boys were going to be outed when I first started reading, but clever twist! ;)

Clark's subconscious knows he and Bruce come from different worlds.

Bruce's working with other wrestlers mirrors Batman starring in so many books! Clark gets his share but not as many, and Diana might as well take a vacation! Though she's finally got another secondary book, Sensation Comics! Whoo hoo, as Etta would say. ;)

Plenty of time, Clark? Oh, dear. I think we all know where this match with Bane is going. :(

P.S. Nice touches that Jack retired Mr. Crowbar and the books that Harley and Pam were reading. :) Jack's crazy dedicated, but he's no Joker! Not when it counts.

I was so happy to finally have a chance to write her and Clark being friends and connecting! I do think they have a wonderful friendship... :)

Totally Totally loved it!! I like the subtleness of lex letting clark know he knows exactly what is going on between Clark and Bruce. And letting him sweat a little is nice. I just hope his grudge isn't too deep! Fantastic chapter!

I'm SO loving Lex in this series, he's a much more Smallville Lex in a lot of ways, I think! Machiavellian but not sadistic (well, okay, he'll make Clark sweat just a bit!)...he's a lot of fun!

No wrestler worked exclusively with another, but every time Bruce got absorbed in a match other than with the Kryptonian, Clark ended up wrestling with an uncomfortable possessive feeling. And now that the Dark Knight was going to be the belt holder...

"That's going to happen a lot more often." Diana's voice was sympathetic as she followed Clark's gaze. "The champion has to be in more matches with more varied opponents, after all."

*pets Clark and hearts Diana* Awww, I really loved how you showed their friendship deeping in this one, it was really sweet and lovely to read!

Bruce had even added a hilariously large stuffed Tyrannosaurus Rex from a webcomic he loved without any prompting from Clark.

It was a real pleasure to write, too! I was happy to have a good point in the story to develop their relationship...

Ohhh, that was so fun to plan! I think after I put the row of action figures in Dan suggested we might as well add all the other things... :)

Ugh, I'm...not really looking forward to writing it, but I also REALLY AM because it's a scene I've wanted to write since I started this series--actually WAY before it, it was the beginning of the whole series, really! I can't believe it's taken me 40 chapters to get to it, lol...

Soon he and Bruce were deep in conversation about how best to get the Dark Knight the belt, and Clark wandered off, suppressing a pang of familiar jealousy.
Jealousy? Oh, Clark. *pets him*

"I know that," Clark said, shrugging. He met Diana's eyes. "Does it show?"
Diana smiled at him and slugged his shoulder. "Let's go get some coffee."
Diana was sweet. :)

"Don't think he doesn't gain some pleasure from knowing he's cutting back on your ability to work together.

"Someday we will visit Paradise Island and I will introduce you to real coffee," she said wistfully.

Startled, Clark let his weights crash down and grabbed the iPad. But the photo on the front page of huge wrestling dirt sheet wasn't him and Bruce, but him and Diana laughing together at their favorite Baltimore coffee shop. Caught

Imagining little boy Bruce makes me so sad! Somehow in this world without Batman it's extra-hard and he needs so much more, it feels...

Oh my! I totally understand why you think it will be difficult to write the next chapter. Bane! Gosh, I'm anxious what happens next!

I'm so nervous! I have to sit down and write a bunch tomorrow--I think I've found a little free time, yay! But oh noooo...

Diana as Clark's buddy and friend and sister makes me so happy to write! I think they get along so well... Thank you for your wonderful comment and I'm hoping to get less far behind soon! :)
