“Clark,” he whispered, and Kal closed his eyes at hearing his name spoken for the first time in four years, spoken with such love and longing. “Clark?”

Finally you make the connection, Mr. Detective. :) Loved it! Especially with Clark unsure of how to introduce himself to Alfred before...

Ah, and the children. It's always to great to see Bruce start out as someone who is on a lonely crusade and ends up with a big family.

“An notorious rake and a male courtesan, and we’re both utterly inexperienced! This is a tragedy, my husband. A tragedy. Shall we--shall we go back and ask Alfred for advice?”

I loved that part! :D Alfred is going to laugh at you. He's maybe not going to show it all proper and butler like, but he's totally going to laugh, telling himself that now he has to silly heroes to look out for...

Lovely conclusion to the story!

Yay, I wasn't sure if that had come through clearly, that he was like "Um, I'm here to tell Bruce that's not my name, so I hate to answer to it, but I don't really want to tell you first..."

Ah, and the children. It's always to great to see Bruce start out as someone who is on a lonely crusade and ends up with a big family.

It cracked me up that in this 'verse he gets ALL OF THEM AT ONCE, lol. Like, from "loner" to "house crammed with kids" in two weeks. I suspect there were some cranky days when Bruce refused to talk to anyone and Clark had to make excuses for him...

I suspect Alfred has been wondering when they were finally going to do the deed ("I didn't expect Master Clark to take me so seriously...") and also wondering when they were going to figure out that between them they had barely enough experience to fill a thimble. *grin*

Thank you so much for sticking with me for this crazy-fun AU!

Eee, I'm so glad! Thank you! I so rarely write the full-on "BIG HAPPY FAMILY WITH A TON OF KIDS" and it's such a nice way to wrap up... :)

Aww, what a sweet ending, though amusing that neither of them was very experienced. Sure, ask Alfred! ;)

All the kids living at the Manor with Alfred busily directing activities and caring for this brood is just perfect! :)

Diana not quite forgiving Bruce for his treatment of Clark is a nice little touch. She'll do it eventually, but Bruce needs someone around who will hold him accountable. :)

I can just imagine the Kents coming to visit and the kids loving them. :)

Heh, typical of the captain of the guard unable to believe that a woman had beaten all those men up. Men and their little fantasies about women can be so amusing at times, if I didn't want to knock their heads together first.

This shorter AU gave us a lot in five chapters! :)

Alfred will supply detailed drawings. *grin* And eye-rollings!

I couldn't resist having all the kids together at Wayne Manor in this universe! All of them training to help fight crime eventually, of course... And yes, Diana's going to keep an eye on Bruce for quite a while--Clark's too nice for his own good, in her opinion.

I can just imagine the Kents coming to visit and the kids loving them. :)

OMG, YES. :D

Hehe, I did like the fact that no one believed Cobblepot's men because they claimed to be beaten up by a woman. *grin* Trapped by their ignorant beliefs!

Cobblepot's men must have been too out of it to realize they were admitting to being beaten up by a woman. ;)

Sometimes Clark is too nice for his own good, but he's got friends who will keep their eye on him! ;)

*flails* OH BOYS! How can you be so adorable?! *sputters*

“An notorious rake and a male courtesan, and we’re both utterly inexperienced! This is a tragedy, my husband. A tragedy. Shall we--shall we go back and ask Alfred for advice?”

Bwahahahaha! PERFECT! Somehow, this is the best way for this to happen. So glad they figured it out in the end.

I have the biggest, soppiest grin on my face. Thank you!

Oh man, I am SUCH a sucker for the supposedly-experienced person being a complete newbie, lol. It made this very fun to write, although imagining the look on Alfred's face when Bruce asks him for some advice... I suppose Clark can go ask someone at his workplace, but that might not be much better! No, I'm sure they'll figure it all out on their own. *grin* I'm so glad you enjoyed!

He started to turn, but it was too late. He felt the impact hit him low on the shoulder, knocking him forward onto the rooftop as the whipcrack of the blast rang out. He caught a glimpse of a young, horror-stricken face, and the horrifically familiar stench of gunpowder filled his nostrils.

Eeeeek!

He’d lost too much blood, he knew it even as he started to scramble across the rooftops, his feet slipping, the merciless stars wheeling above him. He’d never make it home. Too far. He was going to die in the icy cold, and the children would be taken away. He had failed them.

He would never find Clark Kent and apologize.

He would never see Kal again.

*wibbles a lot* Bruce!

“Promised...never show my face here again…”

Bruce, you-!

And then he was leaping to the windowsill, plunging into the icy night and running across the rooftops in great bounds, faster and higher than he ever had before, with his bleeding husband in his arms.

Oh, Clark, Clark!

If you had asked the children, you would have heard a different story, one with ( ... )

Ahhh, hinting at all the little kids just made me really happy! Bruce and Clark collect a whole family in one night! :D

Awww, poor Clark! I wonder what Alfred thought of it all, in the end...

*grin* I'm sure he said that any suffering Bruce went through he deserved, and anything good that came out of it was luckier than he could have expected, and sniffed at both of them and went out trying not to smile. :)

Oh, yes, that is a VERY nice sight... :D

Oh, isn't it, though? Bruce in truly elegant clothing just fills my heart with joy. :)

Jason loving Jane Austen, eeee! Perhaps Bruce gets him an introduction to his favorite author... :)

Also, inexperienced rakes might be one of my favorite things in the world, so fun to write! They'll get themselves figured out somehow... :) Thank you so much for coming along on this one, Star! Your comments always make my day...
