He's different--Sherlock is fun and his own character, but very much cut from the same cloth as Bruce, while Thorin's whole "bash first and ask questions later" brusqueness is a very new character for me and...yes, he's a lot of fun to write, in short. :)

This bodes ill for Thorin, as we always torture the characters we love to write, don't we? *evil laugh*

"Usually Thorin disappears into a library and we disappear into the nearest tavern," Dwalin said cheerfully.
:lol

"What's that note at the bottom?" Bilbo asked, forgetting for a moment that he was angry at Thorin and leaning forward to peer at it.
Yay, Bilbo noticed the note. Great. :)

If we emerge from Fornost alive, you will be returning to Erebor," said Thorin.
"No," said Fíli.
"Did that sound like I was making a suggestion?" said Thorin.
Oh, no discusion there it seems...

"Thorin," said Balin, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Considering the situation in Erebor, it might be best...well..."
"He's trying to say the boys might be safer with us than with Prince-Regent Thráin," said Dwalin.
But Bilbo helped them. :)

"I wasn't sneaking," Bilbo said indignantly. "I was just walking. We hobbits are naturally very quiet."
"If only that were true," muttered Thorin.
Nice. :D

Thorin reflected that he was getting tired of never having the last word with this annoying halfling.
Poor Thorin. :D

"Balin," panted Thorin beneath him, ( ... )

Bilbo can be quite helpful if Thorin will trust him! *nods*

Thorin is...not a very discussion-friendly guy!

Balin and Dwalin, I love them so much! Thorin would be so upset to lose them...

More soon, I hope! *crosses fingers and scurries*

This was a really fun chapter. I like all the interactions between the group a lot.

I've really enjoyed writing them as a group, they each have such distinctive voices and viewpoints! Thank you!
