Yep, written by the same author who did such a great job with Stephanie Brown's run on Batgirl! I never watch Smallville, but even so I'm not having a hard time following what's going on. It's a digital release, so it comes out every Friday and then every three weeks is collected into a paper copy. And it's very good!

Oh yay!

I really liked the first three seasons of SV; they were cute and I'm actually rewatching them at the moment. It got pretty ridiculous after that. (There is one episode in season 2 where Clark meets a scientist who has been translating messages from Krypton, and he translates Jor-El's message to Clark for him--including his actual name Kal-El and his origin from Krypton. The scientist is played by Christopher Reeve and at one point they very quietly play Williams's Superman theme in the background and I CRY EVERY TIME.)

Is this the current issue then?

*lower lip wobbles*

That's lovely.

Nope, they've moved on to another arc, so I think "Detective" (the name of this arc) should be in the stores now? It's worth a look! Lois and "Barbara" (it should have been Steph, but DC said to change it to Barbara, but in my mind it's Steph with a red dye job) are incredible together as well, I feel kind of guilty I didn't post pictures of them working together...

I loved their talk at the masnion - and Clark playing with the batarang and Bruce snatching it away to put it back. (Superman-T-Shirt look works for me!)

And the whole scene in Crime Alley was just perfect for me.

I also dig the t-shirt and armored legs look, lol. The talk at the mansion is wonderfully drawn and the dialogue snaps along really well, Miller is so good at the dialogue! MY BATARANG, DON'T MESS WITH MY BATARANG. :)

Oh! This is so wonderful! *squees* It's so nice to see Bruce and Clark together again, like this... Bruce rescuing Clark, eeee! And talking nonsense at him, awww. *pets him* And then the scenes at Wayne Manor, and then the ones in Crime Alley! *flails* So wonderful.

Thank you for sharing these scans! :)

Oh man, the scene where he's lifting Clark in his arms and ignoring the police just made me swoon. And they have such a nice easy rapport, I really loved the way he wrote them. I think he's going to write them together again sometime...I hope!

That panel where the police are barking at him and he's totally ignoring them and cradling Superman in his arms and talking reassuring nonsense to him, that's the good stuff.
Yeah, loved that too. :)

Name’s Clark
AWWWW. And Bruce’s answer - it was perfect!

You’re a horrible liar Kent.
So true! :)

It's a really nice scene--I like Clark's faith in Bruce's strength, even when Bruce isn't sure what he would have done, and Bruce's sideways acknowledgement that Clark has come to understand him well. The scene was great, And so agree with your words about the understanding. I really liked both the scenes and the dialogue - in the cave and in the Crime Alley (Oh and seeing that panel, I couldn't help but make a new avi :D ( ... )

Oh, I love your icon, yay!

Wasn't Clark sharing his name just perfect? It's unusual because he figures out Bruce's identity first--I assume that's because it's a Superman title. :) But I think it works out so well and shows how much he's come to trust Bruce!

And I agree, it fits into Smallville so well--just different enough from canon in the best ways!
