Action Comics #6: Written by GRANT MORRISON; Pencils by ANDY KUBERT. Backup written by SHOLLY FISCH; Pencils by CHRISCROSS
Action #6 is basically a digression issue, slipped in to give Rags Morales time to catch up on his art, it seems. However, it's a useful issue for filling in a fair amount of background on Clark's childhood and past

I am very interested in the new Fortress of Solitude! Am I right in thinking that the Fortress has never been in space, before? And I do like the last page of him with the Legion looking so happy! :)

And yes, I'm very intrigued by the idea of a satellite Fortress of Solitude! I'm especially intrigued by how hard it would be for a human to get there, and how surprised Clark might be to find he had company one day... ;)

I suspect it was! LJ seems to be auto-screening a lot of comments with links in them (which I understand, since the amount of spam I'm getting has seen a dramatic uptick lately). No problem, though, I'm happy to see the link, just sorry I was slow to respond!
The one that Morrison made a while back (along with the Nubia WW) in Final Crisis #7? If so, I'm a little disappointed, if that's the case. :/
Hm, it certainly doesn't have to be, but considering it's the same idea (African-American president and Superman) and the same author, I assumed it was a continuation of that world. Why is that disappointing, may I ask? I'll keep my fingers crossed that you like it!

I loved the last panel of this scan with Clark looking at earth.
”You know, how they cast me out like they did in a rocketship”
Poor Clark. Of course he didn’t know why he had been sent away i the ship. And he thought they wanted to get rid of him.
And he remembers the first moment the kids from the Legion approached him:
That was an awesome moment. And yay - Clark was wearing the cape already. :)
I tried to google Drekken and everything I got was it’s a new character created by Morrison and Kubert. Hmmm... I’m curious if there is more about him in the next issues.
Anyway, Clark realizes that his dying of Kryptonite poisoning might actually save the world, if he can just get to the rocket in time:It’s always so hard to see Clark suffering from Kryptonite poisoning. And as always - he didn’t think about himself, but how to save the world and everyone in it ( ... )

He looks so good there, doesn't he?

I know, it's so sad! I'm really glad his father doesn't let him believe that...

Augh, I agree, I could barely look. But I loved how he used his own pain to save the world, that's just like him...
And despite the odd art, Clark's history was so wonderful, wasn't it? I was so glad he had his friends, that he had the Legion, and so many happy memories of his parents... I'm looking forward to going back to the crisis on Earth next issue, though! :)

I can’t wait for the AC Clark to be back as well. :D
(Speaking of AC#7, I just found this link with a variant cover of it /warning, there can be some spoilers/ : http://www.chicagocomicvault.com/2012/02/theburnham-does-superman-action-comics-7-variant/ WOW!)
I was thinking about that art again. I have to say, I had a feeling reading that part with Clark’s history like I would watch some kind of drawing made by a child. Or how it would look through child eyes. And that part of the comic actually was about Clark’s memories of his childhood. So maybe the art was drawn that way deliberately. I can be wrong on it, but it’s just what popped in my mind thinking of the ( ... )

I like that thought about the art, it does look sort of stylized, doesn't it? Hmmm, interesting...
