Ahhhhh!!! So wonderful! So frustrating! Ahhhhhh!!! I love Clark being an earnest little reporter, and how he's totally growing on Lois. *happy sigh*

Re: the flying guy, I'm still claiming it's a hoax. No, I didn't get a good look at him. Did you? Still, that's one of the things I'd like to talk to you about.

Because it's me. I'm the flying guy. TOTALLY NOT A ROBOT. Love, Clark.

The party was both hysterical and sad, which is exactly what Bruce Wayne-at-a-party should be. But yay Barbara! She's already awesome. Drunk!Brucie referring to her as a "library scientist" cracked me up.

Oh and THIS:

The fourth thing he had learned, Bruce Wayne mused as he admired Veronica's sapphire earrings, was that no one's eyes were as beautiful as Clark Kent's.

But then, he had learned that last lesson every day for the last four years.

This last part caught me completely by surprise, and I wibbled a little bit. Bruce and Clark need to get together fast before I exploooooode.

...and now I'm late for work! Love this! :D

I was a little surprised at how happy it made me to write Lois starting to take Clark more seriously. :)

Because it's me. I'm the flying guy. TOTALLY NOT A ROBOT. Love, Clark.

I'm now imagining Clark typing out something like that over and over, then sighing and going backspace backspace backspace.

The party was both hysterical and sad, which is exactly what Bruce Wayne-at-a-party should be.

I just love Bruce Wayne at parties, and how everything veers between funny and sad all the time, or at least has the potential to! And Barbara! I was happy to see her myself (I always sound so surprised by own story!)

This last part caught me completely by surprise, and I wibbled a little bit. They're generally being very...restrained and understated about missing each other, which has been kind of driving me crazy. *pokes the boys to angst about each other more* But now and then they remind me that yes, they're really anxious to see each ( ... )

The tension to have Clark reveal himself to Bruce is killing me, but the build-up is worth it. I'm looking forward to seeing their reactions to one another. I really have no clue how Bruce is going to react to Clark being not human.

Splendidman *snickers*

I always fell bad for Batman during these moments where he is pretending to be stupid and a playboy, because of the disappointment he incurs from people he admires.

I love/hate those moments so much! They're so intense and when you can see the pain behind his eyes (like in "Batman Begins") I just fall apart.

*grin* The tension about Clark and Bruce meeting can't be delayed forever, but we are playing a lot of "not quite yet, not quite yet" at the moment!

Also, Splendidman would have been an AWESOME name. :) Ah, Lois...

Awww, you ended with a bang! ( no one's eyes were as beautiful as Clark Kent's. But then, he had learned that last lesson every day for the last four years.) *Melts*
I love how Bruce called Clark on not mentioning the flying guy!!! Too, funny- wait till he finds out...! Fabulous chapter!

Bruce is very interested in this flying guy, and is unsure why Alfred and Clark seem so totally blase about it! :)

Ahh, I'm glad you liked the last line! I was really happy when Bruce thought it. :)

"But usual is so boring," Bruce complained, blinking at her.

Bruce working little bits of truth into his blather is so much fun.

Bad Clark, claiming that it's all a hoax. I mean, I get that he wants to tell Bruce in person, but still.

It's really interesting watching Bruce cement his Brucie persona first. I don't usually think of him doing that.

And I'm so excited that you made Babs a library science student. From a purely personal standpoint, I'm just all \o/ at the idea of a kickass superheroine librarian.

That's always one of my favorite parts about writing him. :)

I'm kind of fascinated by the idea--I agree, I hadn't really thought of it before, but watching him construct the persona is pretty fascinating!

Babs as Super-Librarian makes me happy! I'd love to see them work more of that back into canon...

Hearing Barbara described as a library science student suddenly makes me now picture her with my best friend from high school's face. And, if you left her future with Dick out of it, my friend would probably approve.

Bruce seems so sad at the end of this. In a sea of people, all alone with troubling thoughts of how if he wants to save the people he loves, he's going to have to let them down. I'm curious: in this story, he obviously has a plan, but has he had the "I'll be a Bat!" moment yet?

"In one corner, Tommy Eliot and the new D.A., Harvey Dent, were deep in conversation that seemed friendly, but something about their body language made Bruce distinctly uncomfortable." - I'm probably hallucinating/wishful thinking, but this line set off Slash! alarm bells in my head :-P

*grin* Barbara Gordon is the most kickass librarian ever!

He has not! He knows he wants to be a vigilante, but he doesn't have a hook yet, which is going to come back to bite him, um...next chapter. :)

That would be a fascinating pairing, wouldn't it? They have a surprising amount in common, in some ways, right down to, um, face issues. :P I don't know quite what is up with them here, but it would have to be fraught...
