I did like Barbara's appearance muchly! I always love her old career of 'library scientist'. ;)
Oh, I did like that detail of Bruce observing her taking her shoes off. A little pre-Batgirl ready-for-action, eh? ;)
I always cringe when Bruce has to disappoint people like Jim Gordon with his buffoon act.
The e-mails were awesome! :)
Glad to see Lois waking up to Clark's potential. And Jimmy was so cute! I love on-the-warpath Perry! ;)
Yikes, talk about a pit of vipers! Not only Mannheim and Sironis but Eliot and Dent! *shudders*
Beautiful last line. :)

Yay for Silver Age-y Batgirl! She surprised me with the shoes, too. :)

It makes me miserable, but somehow I love to write it, too. It's just the right kind of angst for me, I think.

I know, it's a real unholy mix going on there! Bruce and Jim are definitely not on friendly ground...

*giggles* Somehow the idea of Bruce (Brucie!) using capitals in his e-mails really tickles me!
"It's not like anyone else got a picture of him," Jimmy ventured, albeit under his breath.
Awww, Jimmy. *pets him*
"I mean, isn't that more important?"
Oh, Clark... *huggles him*
Hours later, puzzling over the sheaf of crabbed, scribbled notes, Clark wasn't sure how "lucky" he was. He turned a piece of paper upside down to see if it made more sense of the scattered jottings, then turned it back. How did Lois create such lucid and incisive prose out of this mess? He frowned, squinting at a note about a "reciet." She couldn't even spell.
*giggles*
"What do you think of 'Splendidman?'"
...Now that he'd heard some of the alternatives, he was beginning to think he'd actually gotten off lightly.
*giggles again* Poor Clark! :P
In one corner, Tommy Eliot and the new D.A., Harvey Dent, were deep in conversation that seemed friendly, but something about their body language made Bruce distinctly ( ... )

I confess it made me crack up too, kind of like Bruce using slang. It seems so incongruous!
Tommy and Harvey made me very uncomfortable here as well! I find them really hard to write, but they kind of wanted to show up...
Eeeeeee, Babs!!! Babs!!!!! :D
She showed up really late to the story and demanded to make an appearance! Her bemusement at Brucie was both sad and fun to write. :)
*bounces* I'm really looking forward to the next chapter, whoo!

That being said, oh, man, the different secrets bubbling over every bit of this fic really ramp up everything.
Splendidman? Yeah, Superman is getting off lightly.
Soooo can't wait for Bruce and Clark to seeeee each other again, gaaaaah.

He is a pillar of the community!
Doing some background work into Sionis I discovered that when he was a small child he fell into a cave and was terrified and bitten by a rabid raccoon. That is pure comic-book origin-story gold.

*pokes them* They keep trying, but they keep missing each other! :/ Sooooon.

This makes me a little sad, along with Bruce's comment about the contempt and disappointment in Gordon's face. Even though it's exactly the reaction he wants to get, it still makes me ache when he actually gets it.
Babs! She's so awesome, I'm glad she's awesome here.
And aw, the last lines, Bruce is so head over heels for Clark, it's adorable.

I feels exactly the same way, which is why it's catnip to me as writer, somehow. The angst of getting exactly what you aimed for at great cost to yourself... *sigh*
And Babs! She's taken to insisting on getting into anything long I write, which always makes me happy. :)
Thanks for the comment!
