God I can't believe how many of those I forgot to post!

I've never been a huge John Wayne fan, but he's growing on me. If we hadn't had to cancel the Netflix I would totally add some to the queue.

And personally I can't wait to blurt out the full length 'Assassination of Jesse James by the Cowerd Robert Ford' at EVERY opportunity.

'Hey, you wanna hang out tonight?'

'Can't, I'm seeing The Assasination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert Ford.' It's just so much fun to have such a long convoluted title!

Heh, I love Blazing Saddles and most Mel Brooks, although I haven't seen it in years. And The Onion 'My Year Of Flops' just did a review of Paint your Wagon. If I didn't have a beer0buzz on right now I'd link you to it. Perhaps tomorrow.

That's pretty much how it played out in my mind. I'd be reading him a question and then maybe expanding on it out loud, and while I was doing that just slip him the note, bold as brass. I came to that realization after reading the post this woman on my friendslist made AFTER she interviewed him for The Onion. She said he wasn't as tall as she imagined him, that movie stars rarely are, but since I'm 5'2 anyway most people are larger than I expect. And that he made continual eye contact with her through the whole thing, which kind of freaks me out because I'm one of those people who looks at you and then looks away when I talk, it's just this tick I have.

And my train of thought would derail at the station if I had to look him in the eye, and at that point, with the eye contact and all, I would make the enormous mistake of assuming 'It's on' and just removing my clothing altogether.

Which is just not good journalism, I understand.

Mostly I dislike westerns, but there are a few I love, such as Little Big Man (possibly Dustin Hoffman's finest moment) and Clint Eastwood's incredibly dark and cynical High Plains Drifter. Although it could be argued that the westerns I like are really anti-westerns, because justice definitely does not prevail. But then I don't think justice ever did prevail in the real West. The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean is also worth a look if you can find it (and if you can put up with Paul Newman).

Oh that's entirely why I like them, they don't represent reality for me in any way shape or form. They're one of the closest things to a mythology that America has, since our culture is a big mashup of other countries.' Instead of Arthurian Legend or Alexander Popovich we have Jesse James, Wild Bill, and the movies that came from their stories.

I also mostly like the anti-westerns, but I'll watch just about anything.

I did enjoy Little Big Man, I haven't seen it in years though. Did you ever see Unforgiven?

No, haven't seen Unforgiven.

Another "anti-western" that I enjoyed was Robert Altman's McCabe and Mrs Miller.

Ooo, I love Robert Altman. I'll definitely give that one a look-see.
