Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

First off, I'm glad that this, a musical, made it to number five of the weekend's box-office top ten. It was a quality film all the way, and maybe an Oscar contender for the leads.

Secondly, I am astounded that Alvin and the Chipmunks is at number 3.

Persepolis, the autobiographic story of a young girl growing up in Iran during the cultural revolution, is going to be France's entry to 'Best Foreign Language Film' in next year's Oscars! Seriously, the 'RainBlow Pops,' which are apparently a blend of chemically-induced pineapple, cherry and turpentine, taste the way that hair salons smell. The first thing I smell in a hair salon is the perm chemicals, that smell of chemically treated burnt hair. I was going to say it surprised me that Pirates 3 only scored a 49% on Rotten Tomatoes, but honestly I think that's more accurate. Critics have polarized in their entertainment these days, so a lot of things (at least what I see) seem to fall in the 'love or hate' category ( Read more... )
