[When Hubert finally returns to the house, he'll find Richard... half-dozing on the couch. Yep, some things haven't changed between Efinea and Luceti, and Richard's tendency to stress himself out and then fall asleep at the drop of a hat is one of them. The reason behind this should be fairly obvious-- it's the same thing Hubert's been worried about, after all.

[ . . . oh. That's a dangerous position to be in on the couch. When Hubert enters the house, one glance at Richard and a notice of the slip and he bolts over to Richard.

Except once he gets there, he's not quite sure how he should handle Richard from falling off for a rude awakening. Let's see, what would be the most appropriate way . . . ah.]

[And Richard jolts awake with a yelp... when he's halfway off the couch, which then causes him to fall the rest of the way off and onto the floor with a thud.

[Here's Yuri spotting a new visitor to the library he'd immersed himself in. The question is surprising, however. Probably rhetorical... or was it?]

...If this world is anything like a planet, there may be other continents across seas. [Not that he's quite finished doing his research yet.]

[Hubert snaps his head in Yuri's direction. Realizing that the question was general enough to be overheard without spilling too much, he nods slowly and goes along with the logical response.]

Of course, the West Central Ocean . . .

[But does anyone live in those other places like the people in this village? They know too little about this world for comfort . . . ]

[An ocean. So there existed a possibility. Yuri sits up a little straighter, regarding the young man before him.] Have you seen any maps of the world here outside of the village and immediate surroundings?

[Hubert shakes his head.] The location, among others, was simply named by the Organization during the draft overviews.

[That alone is reason enough to believe there's some other settlement(s) out there, though he wonders if any of them are being inhabited like this one. "In the past," that person had said . . . ]

That's correct. We live specifically in this village because we're the test subjects. The Malnosso -- organization members, and ordinary people alike -- live in other settlements.

[That's right, Luceti is a special enclosure. Of course there are "ordinary" people outside of it.]

[Asbel arrives at the barracks at some point during Hubert's training, intending to train himself. He pauses in the doorway though, observing him, as he doesn't want to interrupt Hubert in the middle of a set.

Someone's watching you, Hubert.]

[Like that doesn't sound creepy at all.

Hubert notices Asbel out of the corner of his eyes mid-swing, and ends his practice with that final motion. He straightens, turning his head to the "visitor."]

Are you here to train as well? Brother.

Yeah... I am. [A pause.] ...But I'll come back later. I don't want to get in your way.

[It's not very often that Poland goes to the library, but now that the event is over and things have settled down, he needs to look up carp. He hates work, but if it's for his beloved carp Hubert, then okay. He'll do it.

He'll be reading some easy book about carp a few seats away. The kind children read that have pictures. Poland thought he'd go to the easiest first and yet it's still boring. He makes a loud, irritated sigh. Research is hard.]

[Hubert doesn't quite realize that the person sitting a few seats away is the same one he'd talked to about the carp. Glancing in Poland's direction, there's a slight look of disapproval before he turns back to his own book.

Perhaps it was a one time thing and quiet may be had now.]

[Poland doesn't notice him as he takes a small break from the book, wondering why research has to be boring when he switches to another book that has pictures, but this time talking more about the bodies of carp and using big ole scientific terms Poland doesn't know.

He shuts the book loudly and sighs again.]

[Again? Hubert lowers his book and looks over at Poland. He can't do casual reading like this.]
