Fernando would love Funchal. They have some gorgeous old doors there. Then again, many places have gorgeous old doors; I expect to take pictures of a good many of them when I go on holiday in August.
I couldn't tell whether the house in the picture was inhabited or not. Judging from the amount of dust on the stones, I'm guessing it wasn't. Or perhaps the inhabitants only used the back entrance...
Wow, great textures! You have been posting many great shots lately, I have not commented, as I have been a little preoccupied with life/death/school/work/emotions etc., but I have been really enjoying the work. Thank you for sharing them.
Thanks for the kind words, Brian. I really appreciate them. Don't worry about the non-commenting; I know what you've been through lately (some of it, anyway), and it sounded to me as if you had enough on your plate without having to worry about comments and everything. I just hope you're feeling a bit better now than you did last week...
Ah yes, I remember you saying you wanted to go to Madeira. You'll be glad to hear that I have a lot of Madeira photos coming up. I've decided that the next four weeks or so will be devoted to Holland, Burma and Madeira. Unless I change my mind about that, which I'm wont to do on occasion. :-)
Tee hee. This will remain a closely guarded secret until my next monthly review. I'll give you a hint, though -- it's a country to which I've been before, but where I didn't spend nearly enough time at the time. Guess I'm going to make up for that in August! :-)
