Postcards from ancient Egypt

Elaine?

Yes?

Do you ever vary the composition of your shots?

Why, yes, I think I do. Why do you ask?

If you don't mind my saying so, it doesn't really look that way.

What do you mean? You think I always arrange my subject matter the exact same way?

Well, if you'll be so good as to have a look at today's entry... All those subject-on-the- ( Read more... )

Is that your internal dialogue? Fascinating!

Superb photos as always, especially the first one imho.

Re the second one (Luxor?) I don't remember seeing any statues with headdress stripes so prominent, but then again that may just be because I'm insufficiently observant.

Yeah, my inner critic and I have fascinating conversations. Tiresome, but fascinating.

I just checked my negatives, and it would seem that the second picture was in fact taken at Karnak, which means my Luxor guess wasn't too wide of the mark. I've changed it in my post. The funny thing is that I can't for the life of me remember taking the photo, which is unusual; usually I remember exactly where and under what circumstances I took my photos. I must be getting old...

Anyhow, thanks, as always. :-)

Minnie?

....

Minnie?!

Hmm? Oh. Yes?

Did you see Elaine's latest post?

Of course. Never miss her posts.

That's nice. But... did you notice that all of her subjects are grouped to the right?

They are?

You did see the post, didn't you?

Yes!

And you did not notice that all photos had similar angles?

No.

Hah! You so didn't see her post then... *snort*

I did, too.

Did not.

Did too.

And you didn't notice the subjects being on the right in all three photos??

Well. I always view each photo of hers subjectively and choose to not group it an objective manner. And so, it doesn't matter to me whether or not one or more have similar angles. Each photo has its own story to tell, and sometimes comes quite alive.

Yes, but...

Hey look! Shiny keys!

Ooooh...

And the award for funniest and most reassuring response goes to... Minnie! Thanks, girl. Shiny keys, indeed! :-)
