Because procrastinating is so much FUN...

Yes, I know I haven't posted my answers to the last two memes. Yes, I am aware of the irony of posting a meme about fanfic writing when I wrote all of one story last year. Yes, I know that I promised myself I'd finish a story before the end of the month. And yes, I think I've done this meme (or one very similar) before. Nevertheless, I have swiped ( Read more... )

my idea of the inside of Avon's head matches up very well with the rest of fandom's, so I have to edit it quite a bit.

Oh, why? I'd like to read a different take on Avon.

I find Blake hard too, so I always write him from someone else's POV.

Well, it's because I think that as an INTP, he rattles on a bit in his head, and by the time he speaks, he's edited a lot. But I expect most fans would think that he thinks more like he speaks. ::shrug::

I think he's an INTP too! I do like that idea, that he talks a lot more than he speaks.

As for who's hard, well. Blake is excruciating. Yep, I think of all My Heroes he's the biggest challenge... well, probably a couple of the Mag7 guys would be close, but not quite as hard. I don't think I could ever write him in 1st person...

I just about tore my hair out over writing him in "Lay Not Up". It's why it wound up being written in present tense; it was the only way I could manage him.

Actually, somebody told me this week that that first fic I wrote is still her favorite of mine. I can't decide whether I should be thrilled to have written something she found memorable, or mortified not to have written something she likes better since then.
I meant it's my favourite of your fairytale stories! I have other favourites! Like your Jarrierre and Vila remix. And I still want "Scottish Air" to be finished...

Ooh, me too!

And that reminds me, I've still got sallymn's Power Cut to enjoy!

Scottish Air is actually my top project for the year; I just want to warm up by finishing a couple of short things first. But I'm quite committed to it, never doubt it.

I'd do more drama, but I don't think my particular set of themes would be very popular with the fanfic-reading crowd,

You never know, you might attract a nice little niche audience. :)

Then again, I also happen to think, when it comes to this:

I don't think that my idea of the inside of Avon's head matches up very well with the rest of fandom's, so I have to edit it quite a bit.

...that it can actually be interesting to see what somebody else thinks the inside of a character's head is like, even if it doesn't match up with my idea of it.
