Fullmetal Alchemist, "Strays III," Nash/Belsio, R

Ah, the third installment of Strays that doesn't really want to be an installment of Strays, go figure. I don't care that it doesn't really fit, nothing in this entire timeline really fits, so here it is and I think you'll enjoy it so read it. It fulfills prompt #12, "Spinning," rather nicely, if you think the way I do about things ( Read more... )

I love you for reading this stuff, did you know? Really. ♥

Also, I'm THRILLED that you liked this little arc. For all its shortness (Empty Nest was 26 chapters long and didn't give me half the trouble this one did!) it was a PAIN IN THE ASS to write.

*cuddles* Thank you for reading my stuff, hon! ♥

I still love this pairing, this universe and it makes me want to snuggle them all so much in so many ways!

I read this 3 part series first because I'm so smart- I saw Part 1 and started there; not even paying attention that it was not at the top of the list.

This part of the story was remarkably well written. I was drowning in the words and their emotional impact. I would read a sentence or 2 and was so amazed that I had to re-read them before I went on. That's how it was for this whole chapter- I read most parts 2-3 times. After the tearful reunion of father and sons in the bedroom; I read this and choked back a sob-

>>He watches his father turn to leave the room, sits up when Nash turns out the light.

"Dad?"

"Yes, Russel?"

Russel falters, worrying his lower lip with his teeth. "You'll still be here in the morning, won't you?"

Nash looks pained. "Yes," he says. "I'm not going anywhere."... )

Oh sweetie! *cuddles* Yes, this is an INCREDIBLY depressing arc, BUT! It does have a happy ending, as much as six traumatized individuals can have a happy ending. That much I can promise you ( ... )

You definitely made the right choice for the "reveal' to the kids. Anything more would have been too much information for the kids.

And yes, definitely warmed up to the Nash/John or
Tringham/Belsio

Haha, man, I wish I'd kept some of the older versions of this story, the ones where it WAS too much information. Squicked me so bad, it gave me a stomachache.

I'm glad you like these guys, hon. There will be some of my original John and Nash posted to prodigy_wicked later on this week, maybe this weekend. You might want to check it out! ^^

I *love* this variaiton on canon. It's happy and sad at the same time -- the family ends up together in the end, but the path to that ending is is not easy at all. I think the strongest part was when Belsio and Nash started to hear evidence that the "Elric brothers" were Nash's boys, and they almost didn't want to believe it at first.

You *really* breathe life into characters who were neglected by the actual canon.

You know I still say that canon would've been better if ... wow, I just typed "if Jasen and Taylor had stayed together to the end." *cough* I MEAN IF ED AND RUSSEL HAD STAYED TOGETHER, JEEZ.

*sad laughter* But seriously, it would've been better, I think. Show the parallels between the brother pairs, give us fanficcers more fodder for porn. Ah well. Not too bad, considering, right? XD

I'm so glad you like this take on canon, hon. Makes me happy! ♥
