I love the last line! The whole story was...wow! So cute fluffy, funny and so like Ed to be that way! Fantastic, as always. Al/Danny is so terrific when you write them.
I'm glad you liked it, hon! Ed was in a horrid mood this morning, so I let him take it out on the fic. XD And, as always, it's so good to know that someone other than me likes Al/Danny. They're my favorite boys. ♥
I especially like the ending, "Not my style to meddle in my brother's business, anyway." because one is of two minds about this statement. You just KNOW he's thinking "...even though I want to." And the reader, if they know Ed at all, is thinking, "Uh-huh, yeah. Right. And if you believe that, I have a sandbox in Ishbal to sell you
( ... )
I have a sandbox in Ishbal to sell you. WIN. And it's so true ... Ed's full of shit. He loves to meddle in his brother's life, but you're right, he's learning slowly how to back off and only meddle as much as poor Al can stomach it.
Regarding the why for Ed's psychotic overprotectiveness ... yes, absolutely to everything you said. He and Al were all each other had for so long, it's to be expected. Also, though, consider Broche in this: he's from the Military, which Edward absolutely doesn't trust, and because Al can't remember the past, Ed's exceptionally suspicious about what kind of memories Broche may have given his brother. Now you and I may know that Danny would never intentionally do anything to separate Al from his big brother, but as you pointed out, Ed knows that there are people out there who would, and that scares him to death.
I like your prattling. It makes me all leapy and excited (which makes Mr. Quickly throw stuff at me, but it's so worth it anyway!) Thank you so much for reading and commenting hon! ♥
Exactly! Even scarier: Ed knows there are people in the world who would do that sort of thing to Al, and he's RIGHT! It stands to reason that there's a thin line between crazy-paranoia and truth
( ... )
Hmm. I agree that Hoenheim leaving them had a lot to do with Ed's mistrust, but I think that it was the other things on top of that that pushed Ed over the edge. Parents do, unfortunately, abandon their children or die, sometimes, but the other things are just unnatural, like having the leader of the country trying to kill you, your supervisor--and now foster father, essentially--trying to set you on fire, your mentor turning his kid into an animal and allowing her to be killed, a famous assassin coming after you to blow your head up ...
Which would explain why Ed's got the massive paranoia going on and Al's just mildly clingy. He misses his parents, while Ed's scared to death of the entire world.
This is why I didn't like FMA, it's just so horrible to make a series about a kid going through all that stuff. Oh and I forgot all the shit with Envy and the other sins, toss that into the list, too.
Prattle away in my journal! Or IM me sometime (RussTringham) and prattle at me there! It makes the bunnies hop.
Sweet. Ed just wants to protect his little brother... but like all stuborn people he does not want to let them go, or realise they are ready to spread their wings. Very good job!
I think it is the same with most older siblings (depending on the relationship with the younger one) so i cannot blame him at all. but he is slowly growing <3
Oh this was wondeful babe ♥ I needed some nice FMA fluffy love after all the damn LJ drama thats been everywhere >.< and this is just to perfect! I just adore overprotecting-but-trying-not-to-be!Edward - much, much love for him ♥
You know, it's funny: I wrote this story after reading about the freakin drama because something HAPPY needed to happen on LJ. Funny you should mention the drama in this comment! XD
I'm so glad you liked it, hon! Thanks for reading! ♥
