With how often these events occur, I see no reason why the populace is as excited as it is. The nature of our kind, I presume. Unfortunately, without some kind of direction, the masses are left flailing and near-useless amongst themselves.

I suppose so. It's disheartening at how confusion can reign so quickly, however. With so many alarmed to the point of removing themselves from society, how can it function? The initial shock, surprise, the panicked fleeing for the medical center, only to crowd it's beds and lobby with the same response every time: Business as usual.
