With how often these events occur, I see no reason why the populace is as excited as it is. The nature of our kind, I presume. Unfortunately, without some kind of direction, the masses are left flailing and near-useless amongst themselves.

Correct.
I suppose so. It's disheartening at how confusion can reign so quickly, however. With so many alarmed to the point of removing themselves from society, how can it function? The initial shock, surprise, the panicked fleeing for the medical center, only to crowd it's beds and lobby with the same response every time: Business as usual.

Yes, and I'm mostly unsure as to why. Another effect of this new situation we find ourselves in, is my assumption. After all, the nature of mankind is one of flexibility and adaptation- even to the point of over-adaptation. To this end, we find outselves in a new situation and change our very selves to it, rather than bending the situation to our will.
It is as such that we're almost like puppets, are we not? Rather than controlling the world around us, we're strung along like so many marionettes. Without a guiding force, we are at the mercy of our environment.
Perhaps it is because of this that we need a sort of order. A sort of leader.
wtf is a keikakumisterblueskyMarch 10 2009, 16:59:14 UTC
Perhaps. But how would we choose a leader, especially in a time like this? I rather think we're doing fairly well as it is. It's not like we're falling apart or having riots in the streets.
lol, sorry, G00 joke. GRAND SCHEME.subject_e0057March 10 2009, 17:02:02 UTC
Perhaps if we were to think for ourselves, the answer should become clear? No, there is hardly riots or anything- simply a few protesting leaving their homes and others panicking. And I doubt we need any sort of government to tell us what to do- society has already been established.

Yeah, that's one way to put it...I guess. I think everyone's just a little confused, that's all.
