Costume party! Dude, awesome. Who's going? I've got my costume already.

Raven, you'll save me a dance? Or two or three. Assuming there is dancing. And Aara, Claudia, Bryn, Chloe, Rapunzel, I'm totally expecting dancing from you, too. Actually, pretty much just might ask everyone I know to dance, just tossing that out as a warning.

That's quite the list you have there.

[Including his sister. B(]

[He's too wrapped up in this to let the awkward confusion he still feels around Charles affect him, so his smile doesn't waver. Plus, he still has no idea about the whole Raven being his sister thing. So that helps.]

Yeah, I love dancing! I mean, I'm not really that great at it, but it's fun anyway.

[That, and he thinks any dancing might be more of the old fashioned kind, which he's much better at than any of the modern kind.]

And I figure the more people who I can get on board with this, the better chance we have of it happening.

[Oh he'll find out.]

Well, then you'll have quite the company in order to help you practice.

[There's a pause.]

My sister happens to be quite good at it, in fact.

[He will indeed! Between Charles and Raven, apparently pretty soon.]

Very good company. But I wouldn't have asked if they weren't friends.

[And he pauses as well, slightly confused. But, sure, he'll go with it.]

Um. Cool! Does she help you practice?

Haha! So many dances with so many girls. Your feet might hate you for this later.

I totally agree on the movie night! It would be nice to have more than one, since there are so many different movie genres, but I'll take what I can get.

[He grins.]

Hey, I'd be out there dancing probably all night, anyway. Might as well do it with people I like! I'll probably end up trying to get more people to dance at the actual thing.

[Like most of his guy friends. He just didn't want to call them out on the journals.]

Definitely. If we could get more than one, I'd be ecstatic. But at this point, I'd be happy just for one.

[Chloe laughs.]

At least you consider me one of the people you like! Just don't look like you're having too much fun while we're dancing out there, okay? I have a very grumbly boyfriend who might get jealous.

[Her grin is so wide it nearly splits her face, and Chloe wink's to show she's kidding around.]

Same. I miss film so much. Life feels so bleak without it. It's my crutch, what can I say? Even if it's horrible it'll be nice to have a running monologue going on in my mind.

'No, you idiot! Run the other way! Or, sure, because that was smart.'

Something like that.

[She grins once more, pleased with her short rendition.]

Of course I consider you one of the people I like! You're awesome, Chlo.

[And then he makes a face.]

Right, him. Don't worry, making people jealous is definitely not my thing. Even if we will be having an insane amount of fun.

[He grins back at her. Because, yeah, he adores Chloe, but really, really not like that.]

Exactly. It's killing me with no movies to watch, man. That's how we'd unwind back at home, sit back and put on a movie, even just a bad one. It feels so weird not to have that.

[And he laughs at her commentary.]

Hey, maybe for once it's you people'll chuck popcorn at to stop yelling at the movie instead of me.

Dancing? It sounds wonderful! I... will look forward to dancing with you.

[Yep. She's blushing, simply because someone sought her out to say he wanted to dance with her. Looks like Aara will need help deciding what to wear as well.]

Bobby, what is a movie night about? I imagine it is fun, whatever it is, so I am sure I will be there. What are popcorn and snowcones? Are they similar to cupcakes?

[She's already getting really excited.]

It will definitely be wonderful! I'm looking forward to dancing with you, too.

[And he's smiling cheerfully at her, pleased she agreed to dance with him.]

Oh! Do you not have movies in your world? Movies are like, stories, but live action. Like the video feature on here! Only recorded in the past. And popcorn is dried corn that's been popped into fluffy kernels, and it usually has butter and salt on it. Snowcones are really finely shaved ice, with sweet syrup poured over it.

[She grins back, then her expression turns intrigued and then confused.]

The movie sounds fascinating. Like a reenactment? Or play? But on this feature. How marvelous!

Popcorn. I cannot imagine it. I suppose I will have to wait and see for myself.

[She grins.]

I know I'll like the snowcones. They must be a specialty of yours. Are they your favorite?

Yeah, exactly! A play, but not live. It'll be awesome.

[He smiles back.]

You'll love it! It's great, warm and buttery and delicious. It'll be a night of new experiences for you.

[And then he chuckles slightly.]

They are something of one, yeah. Less ingredients needed than for ice cream, I pretty much just need some kind of syrup. And yeah, they're definitely up there on my favorites.

They actually have movies here?

[Scott is totally going to be there; It's mostly to see who Bobby knows, because Bobby probably knows good people, but there may or may not be a little bit of subconscious "It's Bobby and other kids, THEY TOTALLY NEED A CHAPERONE".]

Not as far as I can find. But I'm hoping if enough people are interested, we can get Deior or one of the staff to get us some. I mean, they have video games, so why not movies?

[He does know good people! Scott's more than welcome. ...but also, not a kid.]

...there's video games in a medieval castle?

[What is this place augh.]

Are the staff pretty good about getting things that are in demand?

[He's working on it. If Scott keeps seeing Bobby being a responsible adult and not the teenager he remembers, he'll get it eventually.]

Yeah, it surprised me, too. Wasn't expecting it, looking at this place, but I found them up in the library.

[He grimaces slightly.]

Well, no. Not really. Some of them are nice and will do things like cook, or the doctor will always help injured people, but they're not really that great at giving into requests. But most of the ones I've seen have been big things, or requests for more information, so I figure I might have a little more luck with something small and insignificant. Or, probably not, but it can't hurt to try.

[And also, well, he's kind of testing the waters here. Seeing what's the best way to go about getting the staff and Deior's attention, remaining polite and hopefully not just getting them mad. He's seen the refusals that happen when people request favors, and he's hoping a simple request for a movie night won't put him on the staff's blacklist.

Though even then, at least he would've learned something.]

Um. It's a thing we do on my world, when we're hoping to see something happen. We basically write up what we want, and then go around and try to get enough people to sign it saying that it's something they want, too. Then you take it to the people in charge and show them how many people want something to happen.

If it's a lot, usually the people in charge will listen, so they don't have a bunch of really unhappy people on their hands.

Not always. But sometimes, yeah, often enough that people have a pretty good chance of getting what they want.

And it can be? Especially in like, other countries, or for businesses or unions or something. But usually it's just that local governments don't want to make the majority of people really unhappy, especially around election time. If you piss people off, they'll vote for someone else.
