Thank you! It really felt like pulling teeth. It's good to know that it turned out well.

Oh, this was extremely satisfying. I also heartily approve the use of cute shoes in distracting the vamp.

And I'm glad the girl didn't run away immediately but stayed to thank Buffy. So few did that. And poor thing, people passing by her while she was trapped. ::shudders::

Only for a special few do I read BtVS fic anymore, and you're one of them, love. A few more like this and I might be getting plot bunnies again. :D

Hey, got here through Ruuger's page. I really like this. It's nice to see Buffy really accept who she is: a hero. I liked it.

I'm really fond of the scenario you've come up with, of Buffy being the hero who makes the world a better place, just one person at a time.

It reminds me a little of the beginning of "The Gift", when she also saves someone from a lone vampire in an alley. There, however, the victim insists on her being just a girl, and her longing for a normal life is so palpable. I quite like that, in your story, she accepts the superheroine gig as what she is and what she no longer minds doing.

Thank you. I'm a firm believer that just because one has a thankless job should not mean that one is never thanked.
