"That explains his mysterious trip to Holland...."

I've come to the realization that I absorb other peoples' mannerisms like some sort of wierd sponge thing. I've always noticed that when I'm around someone alot, I unconsciously pick up their way of speaking and gesturing.. Like I say certain words with a British accent thanks to my former roommate Amy. But now I'm noticing it applies to ( Read more... )

fake accents, dance monkey dance

I have some tips on wireless black holes. Borders, for one. And for another...erm...um.... Yeah. My fave local coffee shop has spotty Internet -- sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not -- and most of the other places I frequent are in Davis and also have free Wi-Fi.

You must not procrastinate. You must get all your cramming done so you can at least reap some guilt-free enjoyment from life between now and your exams!

Yeah, I think I'll prob end up at Borders. They have beverage, bathrooms, and quiet tables (but not *too* quiet) and restricted wi-fi - everything a cramming student could need. Except monkeys. They don't have monkeys.

Hey... I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out who TG! reminded me of in that pic you showed me. I knew it was someone, but I couldn't figure it out at first. But today I had an epiphany! TG! bears an uncanny resemblence to Bill Nye! Good thing he doesn't teach science or I'd really be freaking out right now! *ducks* Don't hit me!

Bill NYE?? No freakin' way! Like I said, the pic you saw is not the best in quality or whatnot.

I think he may teach science this year in some capacity. They seem to have him doing a little of everything. :-P

Only thing with Borders is that you MUST stay away from the distracting books and periodicals. (I also recommend getting coffee at the Starbucks next door, since the coffee drinks there (IMO) blow.

I put my vote in... anonymoose_au April 22 2005, 01:00:46 UTC
For Luv2SU, that's hilarious! :O) The second one might have people think you're a medical doctor! You wouldn't want to be called up for a medical emergency would you?

I feel your procrastinating pain, I hope that you will be able to study, I suggest going to the Library. Whenever I go I get heaps of stuff done! Also there are lots of extra books and what not that you can look up for extra info if you're stuck.

I should get my sorry ass to the library, I have many an assignment, and in an apartment with internet, DVD, The Sims 2 and Foxtel I'm getting nowhere fast on them.

But yes good luck with your studying! Just keep those cool numberplates in mind.

Well, I gotta say LUV2SU or LUVS2SU are my first choices... and y'know, I *will* have my doctorate degree. I mean, so what if they think I'm a medical doctor and ask for my assistance in a tracheotomy... how hard could it be??

I thought of the library... but my school's library just happens to have wireless 'net! They're all conspiring against me! They want me to fail!

Really? What a wank! anonymoose_au April 22 2005, 02:16:07 UTC
Then there is only one thing to do...

Go without a computer!

I know, awful concept! But then again...sacrafices must be made...:O)

Besides writing on a notepad probably makes one look more lawyery they do it all the time in Law and Order.

On the other hand if you're like my bro and keep everything on a laptop (I don't have a laptop so I can't), this probably won't work. But it's all I can suggest.

Are you calling me a wanker?! :-O missnickers April 22 2005, 02:22:51 UTC
Yes, I would *look* all law and orderly with my legal pad... but all my notes and outlines are on my laptop! :-O My whole life is on this baby! So then I would use the legal pad to doodle pics of Peter or Homer...

Hehehe - Nice plates - I may have to seek out the Florida counterparts. :-D

Actually my family would probly disown me. I know it's hot elsewhere but doctors and lawyers are at each others throats here. Of course my grandfather is a doctor and I'm considering law school. Fortunately my mom is a mediator as she use to be his medical technician and now she's a legal assistent. :-) Now that's playing both sides of the fence.

BTW - I can't speak for Calli but just about any where in Tallahassee, Ft. Myers, or Cape Coral will severely limit your wireless access. Don't procrastinate too much tho'. I think it's important that at least one of us pass our classes. :-D

Why do doctors and lawyers not get along?! If anything I'd think they'd join forces agaisnt insurance companies or something... I dream of a world where doctors & lawyers walk hand in hand. *whisles So Happy Together*

When I WANT wireless access, I can never find it, but when I'm trying to stay away from it, IT'S EVERYWHERE! My house is wireless, my whole school campus is wireless, my favorite coffee shops are wireless.... *sob* Must.. stay... strong!

And I think you'll do fine on your finals - esp considering you put an Incredibles sticker on that test. You can't go wrong there!
