StephButt or ZebraButt or whatever the pairing name should be is something I never would have considered but now I think they make out whenever they're tipsy (while Johnny and Evan seethe quietly in their opposite corners) and then someone gets distracted by a song or a friend and they go about their business as if nothing happened.

Well you know he would! It would be completely irrational too since he would be all, "Stéphane is ridiculous what do I care?" But then Stéphane would spend all of one day flirting with Johnny and being sweet and affectionate and funny while Johnny plays hard to get. Next thing Johnny knows Stéphane has flitted off to Maxim Trankov or Jeffrey Buttle or he's asking some female skater how she does something and Johnny gets all huffy and pouty except he knows he shouldn't feel huffy or pouty because Stéphane is leaving him alone like he said he wanted.

So he'd skate around in Stéphane's line of sight, trying to look attractive, glaring daggers at Maxim or whoever and telling himself that Stéphane is the worst European stereotype in the world until Stéphane comes back and starts talking about where they should go to lunch tomorrow as if nothing at all has happened. And Johnny would be quite relieved but still a diva so he would just say something like "Ugh, whatever, you're going to do a throw with me, right now," and Stéphane would be

Oh wow, that video of Stephane and Jeff really is the CUTEST THING EVER. They are just so earnestly into the play fighting. And clearly having a blast. Aw, THEM. And the whole thing is very Sharks and Jets. They just needed more finger snapping, haha.

Together they have the best hair and the best smile in the business, so they make a hilarious kind of sense. And they're perfectly suited to make Evan and Johnny stop catfighting and start complaining that CERTAIN PEOPLE aren't paying enough attention to them.
