Why can't I be one of those people that goes on runs to reduce stress?

Jul 21, 2010 08:31

My personality quirks have decided to take a new and interesting turn. I'm really stressed about work right now for reasons I never got around to explaining. Basically I'm up for a promotion. So is another girl. And we're in direct competition with each other. In August we'll find out who got it. Basically, she and I have talked and whoever gets it ( Read more... )

WTF IS WRONG WITH THE BBB. I am still in a state of WTF because she gets to do impossibly hard things and you get to do data entry and at the end, they choose? WHAT?

also: ilu

I have a collection of various and sundry things that make me smile like a little quotes and photos and bright colors. It helps??

My job is so crazy. Like I don't even really know the point of the experiment. To not fail? To succeed? To show that I'm really best in the other position? To show that I can do both? Ugh. ;____;

Also, ILU! I miiiiiiiiiiiiiss you. Hopefully we can see each other soon after your exciting CC times!

I should totally do a collage-y type thing, but I've never been patient enough to work that. Currently I have nothing but various depressing work memos and a Basic Skills of Figure Skating checklist on the walks. Along with a lamp and one stick of bamboo. (It's so depressing.)

I have a friend who brings her Camp Rock water bottle to work every day. We had lunch a few days ago and Joe Jonas was staring at me provocatively while I ate my pizza.

Anyway! My cubicle is a testament to how much I love a) my cat and b) the Boston Red Sox, which gives me the added bonus of having miniature baseball bats hanging around in case I ever want to beat someone over the head. One of my favorite accouterments is a picture of my favorite player holding a puppy, so in my mind, your sk8r bois are just fine! I also like to pin up greeting cards, relevant Toothpaste for Dinner and GraphJam printouts, and somewhat nonsensical LOLcats.

Also present in my cube: a Susan B. Anthony doll and several pink lawn flamingos. I sort of like giving the impression that I'm odd and unstable, because people are less likely to bug me that way...

I often bring my JONAS lunch box so it's not that I'm under the delusion that I'm cool, it's more that I'm pretty sure people will think that I have genuinely taken leave of my senses if I try to explain that Stephane technicolor zebra costume has a back story. Also it might be weird to have Johnny Weir but no pictures of family.

Previously I had this collage of various newspaper ads that I had done reviews of and it made me look like a serial killer (ala THE NEWSPAPER IS GIVING ME MESSAGES! IF I CAN JUST FIND THE PATTERN!). The pages had started to yellow and I was getting grossed out so I took it down.

Now the gray is attacking me with more fervor than ever. I'm gonna do some serious contemplating, though. Maybe an old art calendar.

When people ask me why I have Josh Beckett holding a puppy on my wall, I yell "BECAUSE I LOVE HIM MORE THAN A LOT OF THINGS" and eventually, they go away. You could do that with Zebra Stephane! If it makes you smile, you should go for it.

Alas the biggest issues is actually a lack of access to glossies of him. ::pouts::

D: urgh, good luck with the promotion thing, dude.

I WANT COOKIES.

As for cubicle decoration... well, I do live in a pretty oppressive cubicle with basically no stuff up on the walls at all, but postcards would be nice? Basically my decor style at home is "STUFF ON THE WALLS. LOTS AND LOTS OF IT." Although obviously you should just given in and put pictures of Johnny and Stephane up already. You are a SRS BSNS FAN OF THE SPORT!

My cookies are pretty good, ngl! Like Stephane I want to be all "I'm so sorry for you that you can't have my pancakes cookies."

I'm usually a minimalist but I'm not about to create a faux office with like real hanging pictures and silk flowers or something (much as I DESPERATELY WANT AN OFFICE). So yeah basically I think a bunch of little things are probably going to be my best bet yeah.

::sighs:: I wish I lived in Asia and could purchase figure skating art books. And yes, Magical Zebra and Diva Whore Bitch are indeed SRS BZNS, it's true...

I had chocolate covered almonds instead, in homage to Stephane.

It depends on which part of Asia you live, I guess! I'm in Singapore, and NO FIGURE SKATING ART BOOKS FORTHCOMING YET. Sigh.

Lately a lot of things I do are in homage of Stephane. :)

Ah, that's true. Skating seems to be biggest in Japan and Korea, right now, right?. Is there a way to lump those together? Super East Asia? Countries That Touch the Sea of Japan (which would have the bonus of including Russia, but the con of being too long to say)?

Maybe instead ALL COUNTRIES SHOULD HAVE FIGURE SKATING ART BOOKS. ART BOOKS FOR ALL!

I have a Camp Rock thermos if that would help. You can borrow it.

Also, nothing would be more embarrassing than a picture of Joe right now.

UGH. JOE. :( I just don't even know what happened. Like, even though I was totally aware of my pulling away from him I'm still baffled by how FAIL he looks right now.

REMEMBER WHEN HE LOOKED LIKE HE DID IN MY ICON. ;____; Those were good times, weren't they?

His eyes! :( :( :(

I think that his glasses were fun as a novelty. I definitely thought they were hot when he wore them not and again. But now I haven't thought about his eyelashes in months.
