I actually am on a mostly dairy free diet because it brings on my migraines in such a severe form. The only way you can know for sure is to try going without it for a while. It's not so bad and you can still eat it sometimes just prepare yourself for possible pain.
I think that may be in my future, but I am hoping that they're most strongly tied to my cycle and not food triggers. It would suck to get them once a month, but at least I would know that it would only be that one week that I was in danger of them.
I can't have red wine anymore, on account of the migraines. It's balls. I probably shouldn't have dairy or chocolate either (why is the world so cruel to us!) but can't bear it.

I wish it wasn't EVERY FOOD I DEARLY LOVE that was a possible trigger. Seriously, it couldn't be... I don't know, broccoli? Or pork or something? ::sighs::
Luckily though, I'm fortunate that they're very mild, treatable with OTC drugs. It could be worse!
