Several amazing things

Oh Joe Jonas. I've already talked about how much his dedication to the Special Olympics things warms my heart. Mentally handicapped kids make me so nervous. I don't know what to say, what the rules are with interacting with them. I don't want to upset them and I don't want them to think I don't like them because of my nerves. I get upset, too, ( Read more... )

If I could only pick one thing that I love about Joe, it would be his dedication to Special Olympics. My sister is one of their athletes, so it just hits me right in the heart. (Now if only he'd come do an event in Milwaukee - it would make her life to be in the same room with him.)

I think you should start a letter writing campaign!

I've honestly thought about it - but who would I actually direct the letters to?

Is there any contact info on their "Change for the Children" website? (I almost wrote Challenge for the Children, Nsync's old charity. I wonder of Johnny Wright is using the same tax shelter.) I would think you'd get farther writing to people in their foundation.

Or you could try writing Change for the Children, c/o their label? I'm not sure! Maybe we could ask CUF.

It's something you get used to, the whole disabled/handicapped kids thing. My mom's best friend's daughter has down's syndrome, and because we were the same age and went to the same school I saw her basically every day up until we moved. It's awkward at first, the same way people who've never been around babies are all, "How do I act, what do I do, I'm uncomfortable and out of my element!?!" There aren't really any hard-and-fast rules, each person's handicap and experience and family situation is unique, so don't feel bad that you don't know how to handle it! *hugs*

Yeah, I definitely think the biggest part of my problem is simply a lack of exposure. I don't have any members of my family or friends that have been touched by it so it's very unknown to me. I'd love to find the time/will to volunteer in some capacity (any capacity). But when I do volunteer it's usually with animals, which are easy to get along with. ::sigh!::

Hopefully at some point I'll get a little more exposed to all walks of life.

Until then, I will love Joe Jonas for doing what I can't.

Oh godddd, I'm glad Nick has taken up the Lady mantle in the Jonas family, now that Kevin is going all manly on us and getting married, and Joe has gone and cut off his lady locks. Nick is like, "Fineeeeeee. I will be the Girl!Jonas. The things I do for this family..."

Lady!Nick. Where is your fabulous fur-lined winter coat a la Lady!Joe?

Hahaha, it's like once Nick turned 17 he had to go through all of the phases of Jonas puberty at once. Questionable hats/hair, lady clothes, bow-ties. ::laughs:: It's endearing him to me quite a bit.

Lady!Nick makes me want to write genderswap. Nick would be the ANGRIEST girl. Until Joe got him off.

Sometimes I'm still just flabbergasted by how much they look like boyfriends when they're out and about. THEY REALLY DO. I am sorry, but no one would EVER mistake my brothers for boyfriends! But these guys! Their little FAAACES. And Joe's body language is so CUTE with Nick. And they're both THE SAME AMOUNT OF SLEEPY. They're really just boyfriends. And I feel bad that I've gotten so USED to calling them that, it wouldn't be that impossible for me to imagine seeing them in rl around NORMAL (non-fan) types and going "AWWW, THE BOYFRIENDS."

WHOOPS.

ALSO, I sent your package! I added a few little samples of things I thought might work for you too. Just so you could test them.

The way they leeeeeean together. You could argue that it's just because they're trying to make sure they both get in the shot, but even on that Spanish TV show, where they had multiple cameras on them and there was no need to squeeze into a shot they leaned together to watch the crazy man make his crazy bubblegum.

And they're both THE SAME AMOUNT OF SLEEPY.

I didn't notice that until you pointed it out, but oh my GOD, you're right. That's so adorable! It's because they go to bed in the same bed at the same time. I love it when they talk so casually about their sleeping habits. Joe will be like, "Oh yeah, Nick and I were up 'til four last night!" and Nick apparently gushes to Joe about getting married and GAH.

And they FLIRT. They full on FLIRT sometimes. They look it, they act it. What am we supposed to think? ::sighs::

I am so excited about the package! Thank you so much! I'm down to my last thimble-full of my current scent and I bet it'll get here just in time! <33
