Jaina had been feeling pretty okay with this, wondering for the briefest of moments whether there was some way to just deal with the stupid one-month-for-a-day thing if they could manage this so easily. This didn't last once she'd gotten dressed and actually started noticing things. Like boxes. She did check on whether her things were still where she remembered, and found that they were. That made her feel better in a way, but the state of the apartment kind of brought that one particular reason for coming here back into perspective.
When John came back, he'd find Jaina looking around the apartment- innocently, not in a snooping kind of way- to see what else she'd notice that had changed in seven months.
John had found it impossible to keep from thinking about what came next during his walk. Returning loaded down with food and drinks, he smiled a little sadly at her standing among the boxes of his belongings. "Guess I didn't mention moving, huh?"
"All over," he admitted, somehow not wanting to tell her about this. Like it might hurt her feelings that he just kept making plans. "First up is Texas for a nine week indoctrination."
