In no particular order, with no discernible commonality:

- My son is with my parents today. They are taking him to the cinema. He secretly wants to see Cars 2, but he is Twelve, you see, and afraid he might run into someone he knows and Cars is kids film. So they are going to see Kung Fu Panda 2. O.o ( Read more... )

Phoenix needs food trucks. I'm really bored with my walking distance lunch options here. :|

I was totally spoiled for the big Game of Thrones death before I read it years ago, too, but I still didn't think it was going to happen when it does. Even watching the episode I was like, "NOOOOOO. It's going to be okay! OMG! OR NOT." :P They've done such a good job on the series.

I am sure she'll be okay for a couple of weeks and the kennel has the vet's info, but I really hate leaving her right now. :(

I'm so hooked on DC's food trucks, and I think Sauca is my favorite. Next time, try the pork banh mi, it's AMAZING.

I kind of wanted to say, "One of everything, please!" It's a good thing I didn't see the bacon cole slaw until after I ordered because the butter chicken was very filling. They have 4 trucks so I'm hoping one of them is back this way soon!

Hey! I would totally go see Cars 2 in theaters by myself. ;) (And actually, I thought it comes out next weekend, which I'm not going to be around for anyway.)

Game of Thrones! I don't know if I will continue the series, at least not yet - I know he's not done writing it's not all done yet and each is so long! Other books to read in the meantime, but maybe some day. :)

I have been told by a reliable source that you are the person to ask about food trucks in D.C. What are your favourites? Any tips/tricks/secrets to share?

So far I've tried (and loved): Sauca, RedHook Lobster, CapMacDC, FojolBros and Curbside Cupcakes. The trick is to friend them on FB or follow them on Twitter (or if you have a smartphone you can download the Food Truck Follower app) and find out when they will be near you. Be there soon after they open (usually around 11:30), though most of them keep their lines moving quickly. And have cash, a lot of them don't use/have problems with credit card machines.
