Approximately twelve hours after our new stove/oven and dishwasher were delivered, they are now (mostly) functional. Well, the stove/oven worked right away, except that it can't currently be flush against the back wall because the outlet for it is in a box on the floor (instead of someplace more sensible like in the wall) and while the old unit ( Read more... )

Yikes! I hope dishwasher doesn't throw off your family brunch schedule. In February, I had to call the emergency service of my home owner's insurance to deal with a kitchen plumbing clog at 1am. I was hosting a dinner party that evening and doing some of the prep work when I noticed that the sink was draining properly.

To put my comments into context, I actually agreed with you that a professional would have been a better alternative if only to avoid all of the hard work that has been produced via the DIY route. I did not merely state that you were not helping.

The funniest bit is that he sent me an email late last night of a review of this dishwasher from somewhere online where someone mentioned how difficult this model is to install and should be left to a professional! I will not be at all surprised if I come downstairs to a puddle of water one morning.
