Approximately twelve hours after our new stove/oven and dishwasher were delivered, they are now (mostly) functional. Well, the stove/oven worked right away, except that it can't currently be flush against the back wall because the outlet for it is in a box on the floor (instead of someplace more sensible like in the wall) and while the old unit had a space for the box to fit into, the new one does not. So, we'll have to get an electrician to fix that at some point.
With the dishwasher, my husband, the cheapskate, did not want to pay $100 for the plumber to install it. No, he fancies himself a handyman. It took him five hours to install it, including having to make a wider hole for the hoses and running out to purchase a longer hose. And contrary to
foldingstar's belief, I was trying to help. But given that I have no plumbing, electrical, or carpenterial knowledge, there wasn't a whole lot I could do. Except continue to look at the mess he had made and the dishes that need to be washed but could not while he had the water and electrical turned off.
If it were any other weekend, it would not really be an issue, but I'm having my family over for Easter brunch tomorrow and kind of need a working kitchen. He finally got it finished in time for the new DW episode to start. :\ I cleaned during the commercial breaks.
Besides that fiasco, I spent the day watching the DW marathon on BBCAmerica. I continue to love Eleven, Amy and Rory more and more. As for the new ep, I thought it was a great start to the season! I am not too concerned about the death at the beginning because it's clearly 200 years in the Doctor's future. I do think, though, that some sort of confrontation over Rory's resentment of the nature of Amy's relationship with the Doctor is coming soon. Also, did anyone else think the aliens were reminiscent of The Gentlemen from Buffy? They were definitely creepy!
For now, I'm off to bed!
