For those of you that sew and travel on airplanes. . .

What are the rules regarding sewing (and bringing sewing notions, like scissors or sewing needles) on airplanes? I remember back in 5th grade 2 days after 9/11 this boy in my class was flying home from somewhere and TSA took his scissors (which is why he never had scissors the rest of the year. I've never had a problem taking those bunted end, little kid scissors on air planes before. Nor have I had a problem taking needles or pins. I usally took 5 or so pins and two needles stuck in the end of a spool o' thread.

My mom has had problems taking fingernail clippers and nail files though, so don't take those in your carry on. Or screw drivers. You never know, you could try and take appart the plane. *grins*

As for a project....how about an embordiered collar or one of them cool berlin work pockets or a berlin work bag?

Thanks, Nona! I was planning on bringing my pair of blunted scissors rather than my nice sewing scissors on the off chance that they decide to take them.

My granny actually took a pir of nail clippers in her carry-on one time, and they took those away from her. She's in her 80's. And her hands shake. And she uses a walker. Really, I don't think she's much of a security risk.

And I'll be sure to leave my screwdriver at home. Because you never know when you may need to take apart a plane. ;)

I'm thinking that I'll do the embroidery on the Past Patterns Chemise pattern that I have (I'm working on the tucked one right now and it is gorgeous), because really, when am I ever going to have time or feel motivated to do it?

Yeah, if I can even figure out how to do the embroidery and put it together, you'll probably have your chemise within the next 5 years. ;)

And there's like no balls here at all to go to! (unless you count the Steilacoom Christmas event)
