What Yuletide brought me

First of all, Merry (belated) Christmas  to all who celebrate(d)! I meant to update earlier, but somehow never got around to it... I also wanted to post some fic, but my creativity has been rather absent lately, so I haven't been able to finish anything. :-/ But at least I got my exchange fics in on time, which is something.

However, this Christmas ( Read more... )

No, not at all -- I'd love for people to read it, hence the rec. *g* Enjoy!

Done! It's really lovely and at the same time eloquent. And I like the writing style.

Yes, it felt very fresh as well as true to Alec's character, I think. :-)

Also, there have been several other Maurice fics written for this year's Yuletide, which is amazing -- I'd love to see this fandom grow larger!

Next year, I'm doing Yuletide for sure! I didn't do it this year because a) I'd already taken on too many writing projects, and b) for some reason, I found the instructions daunting. I'm normally able to follow directions, but somehow, I couldn't quite grasp all the business about nominations or how it was decided who wrote what. But the archive looks like such fun, and this year's fandoms are so intriguing, that I'm sure I'll be able to figure it out next year. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to Austen fic and Alcott fic and so much more.

Glad your holiday has been fun.

I found the instructions daunting.

Oh, I know what you mean (in fact, I think this may have been one of the reasons I didn't sign up last year). But I figured that if other people can do it, so can I -- and actually, it's not as hard as one might think: when signing up, you pick at least three fandoms (with or without specific characters) you'd like to receive fic for, and at least three fandoms (with or without specific characters) you'd like to write in; then the sorting generator (or whatever they call it) does the rest.

Still, it's fun just to read the stories, even if one doesn't participate. :-) I hope you'll find some good Austen ones!
