There's a little black spot on the sun today...

So I'm taking 12 credits this quarter, which isn't really that much -- it's the minimum you can take and be considered a full-time student, I believe. Every quarter so far I've taken 15 (except on one occasion where I took 14 -- daring!), but since I'm aiming to have an internship during the summer I figure I can make up those 3 credits ( Read more... )

anime, princess tutu, college, real life

I'm looking forward to it. :) Seems like there are some cool people in the class and it'll be fun to watch the series again. and now I keep saying to myself, "self, you could totally run an Utena focus group and it'd be Frigging Sweet"

Oh man, I remember that feeling of reading a new syllabus and thinking "THIS in 10 weeks!?" Someone like you will be fine, I promise. :D

Exactly! D: It's a horrible mix of "oh jesus I better get cracking on this now!" and "oh shit I have no idea where to begin because we haven't actually learned anything in class yet!" Once we start learning things it's not so scary, but... the first day is kinda gut-wrenching. >_<

Thank you. ♥

Wait a second here...

You're taking a class about an anime? Not anime in general, but a single anime?

I call haxx0rz!!!11!!1

;)

Seriously, though, have fun in your classes. I'll commiserate with you about having to write a bunch in the next 10 weeks. ;)

A CHID focus group, to be exact. :D There's also one offered this quarter that's on Star Wars, and another on Battlestar Galactica (the new one.) Good times!

Ugh. You too, huh?

Fascinating. I hope you enjoy it, as it sounds like fun. (i.e., I'm totally jealous.) ;)

Yeah, I think I have as much writing to do as you over that time, although most of mine is front-loaded into the next 5 weeks. When your quarter ends, we should totally get together to celebrate having survived all that writing. :D

I don't know if you have seen them or not, but there is a series of dubbing blooper reels for Princess Tutu on Youtube. They are pretty funny in my opinion. Bit o' rude language though, so you wouldn't want to watch them at work with the sound pumped.

I had heard about those, but I didn't know they are on YouTube. Thanks! :D

Oooh, I love Princess Tutu! Though I heard the dub wasn't very good...

I love it too! :D Such a good series!

The dub's not fantastic, but it's certainly watchable; the four main characters sound good, and that's the important thing. I can see how some people might find Ahiru (or, I should say, Duck)'s voice annoying, since it is kinda squawkish and immature-sounding, but she is a duck, so it fits. And it's very clearly put-on, since she drops those mannerisms when she does the Princess Tutu voice.
