Kankuro had stumbled his way into the caravan of crowds, popcorn and one hell of a good time. Theater's were always one of his favorite past times to raid when he was bored or lonely. If he found the right family to parade in with then it was an open door for free food and using their youngest child as bait. That gigantic Sabaku grin on his face, Kankuro plowed through the crowd eyeing down all the small children and the parents attached.

That was until he ran into the oversized bald tank and landed himself on the floor from unstable footing. His face twitched as he hit the ground, that upper lip quivering as his eyes adjusted to the bright lights around, finding his attention on the busty brunette in front of him. He grinned.

Continuing to peruse the movie choices, Hinata was torn between two different ones and very nearly asked a nearby security guard for their opinion when she heard a sudden commotion nearby. Blinking down at the person who seemed to have stumbled near her, Hinata reached down to offer him a hand up. He looked sort of familiar but she knew that she didn't actually know him. Maybe it was the giant smile that made her feel comfortable but she wasn't sure.

Noticing the security guard was looking over at them, Hinata vaguely wondered what was going on. Maybe somebody had tried something stupid? She shrugged it off since it obviously didn't concern her and smiled slightly. "Um, do you need any help getting up?"

Kankuro took hold of the pale girl's hand, his own engulfing it with it's sheer size and his tough boy image. The security guard glared down ready push the boy out the door the minute he got up.

"I know what you're trying tough guy, and I won't have it in this theater. Get out!" he said his fist clenching showing Kankuro just how serious he was.

Kankuro laughed, that grin staying plastered on his face. His arm wrapped around the brunette, tugging her closer before whispering quietly in her ear to play along.

Mocking shock, Kankuro kept his grip on the girl, tight yet gentle as she looked about ready to snap in two. She was so damn short and small---it was kind of cute actually. "Was just looking for my girl," he said casually as if that were his reasoning for hunting through the crowd just moments earlier.

When Kankuro took her hand Hinata gave a valiant tug, not realizing the sheer size difference between the two of them. When he finally stood up and the security guard spoke she was startled, wondering what exactly this man was trying.

Blinking in shock, she blushed brightly when she felt the guy she had just helped up wrap his arm around her shoulders and lean in close. Squeezing his fingers slightly to show she understood, Hinata nodded.

"I..I'm sorry sir, did we do something wrong? I was just trying to decide what movie we should see..." She bit her lower lip, hoping this guys wasn't trying to pick up on her.

Smiling shyly, she could feel her face heating up more as the security guard continued to stare. Instinctively burying her face against the shoulder that was so close to her, Hinata squeaked softly. "I..I almost thought you wouldn't find me...I knew I sh..should have worn my heels."

She wasn't a very good liar, but didn't understand why this poor guy was getting picked on.

Haku wondered if he could pull off theatre-hopping at this hour. Maybe. iPod blasting a song - nodding his head warily to the beat, recognizing a couple of people.

I AM LEGEND looked to be worth the ticket. He noticed the guy to be Kankurou - Temari's brother. The girl, he wasn't sure who she was exactly.

Yachiru rarely went to the movies. Usually she was too busy picking up extra shifts and trying hard to find Kenchan, but she felt she deserved a treat. People at work had kind of been annoying lately, and there was only so much dressing like a human doll or porn start Yachiru could take before she just needed a break.

Thankfully she was off today, but she had no idea what to see. That, and she had the strange feeling no matter what she picked she would be asked for ID which was totally lame. All she really wanted was the popcorn and some entertainment, but going to the movies alone made a person look kinda like a loser.

She wondered if she'd see any patrons here...then maybe she could get a free movie and popcorn.

Haku swore he saw the reflection of unmistakable pink hair again, "Yachiru?"

Hearing her name, Yachiru turned towards the noise and waved happily. "Hey, dancing guy! Hi, what's up?"

"Not much," He replied cooly hands in his hoodie jacket, "S'why I'm heading to check out a movie."

Figuring that she was probably out with a date, he didn't say all that much.

"What movie you coming to check out?"

Kagome walked out of the theatre, still shuddering slightly. She had known that Sweeney Todd was a dark story, but why did Tim Burton seem to have such a blood fetish? And the horrible, horrible way that... that....

Shaking again, Kagome really wished that she hadn't decided on watching the movie for her acting class. She was doing a paper on the differences between theatrical and cinematic acting, and watching a contemporary play-turned-into-a-movie seemed like a good idea at the time. Yeah, just like me selecting a double major, she thought, still nauseous.

She saw a line of young people outside, and hoped that there was no one she knew in the area. She was still pale and shaken up from her movie-going experience, and would probably only do or say something ridiculous. She had a spiral notebook that she had been planning on using to take notes throughout the film, and decided to open it and use it to shield her face from view as she walked towards the parking lot.

Again... it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Thread Continuation of Yachiru & Haku icedxshrapnel January 21 2008, 23:44:40 UTC
"Mmkay." Haku went back to the joystick and kept playing, "I'll just keep going until I die, or until it's time to go. Whichever comes first."

"Oh okay," Too focused on the game - yet suprisingly still able to keep somewhat decent conversation with Yachiru as he played. "Yeah. That friend of mine had gotten a bunch of games from someone and I had gaming consoles. Sega Genesis, Atari, Nintendo, Colecovision. Didn't have all the games or anything but for the most part I just played those when I was bored."

Haku was slowly getting bored of the game, and he walked away from the joystick when he noticed the time while he grabbed the drink and M&M's. "Hope you don't mind - I just picked 7UP. I didn't know what kind of drink you liked."

The whole concept of video games was something Yachiru never really understood considering she never really had any stress to work out or any time to waste. Kenpachi was constantly moving and so was she.

"That's cool, I don't mind 7UP and it's not like I need the caffeine. As long as it's cold an' washes down the popcorn it's all good." She smiled at Haku, following him to the theater as she continued to chat. "I never really had much free time, Kenchan liked to travel and fight so I always stayed with him."

Noticing the slight look of boredom Haku had going Yachiru hoped it wasn't aimed at her. "Some o' the guys he fought tried to use me as leverage so's I learned how to fight as well. Do ya know how to fight too?"

Haku nodded, although not intentionally trying to be reclusive - it was merely his demeanor. Although solemn, he did keep to himself alot. He wasn't used to talking about himself a whole lot.

"Yeah. For the most part." Haku didn't really know what else to tell her at this point. He usually focused on movies with the intent of watching the movie straight through. "If I suddenly go quiet? Forgive me." He shrugged at little. "Sometimes - I don't know what to say to some things."

It was more or less at this point that he was getting comfortable with dealing with things. How to react, and how not to.

"I just don't want you to think it's anything you've done. I've just got alot on my mind at the moment."

Yachiru reached out to hand her ticket to the ticket-collector, waiting for him to rip it and hand her the stub before answering Haku. She figured what she was about to say might be slightly more insightful than her usual babble, and stifled herself until they could have some privacy ( ... )
