Once Mars enters Pisces for a two-month tour on April 6, you'll be ready for at least one new adventure. Travel could be one way you take advantage of this coming seven-week trend, and if so, getting a change of scene would be good for you. If you do decide to leave town, think big. Will you walk down charming streets of Kyoto, go big game watching ( Read more... )

I am hoping it will be!

(it is good to see you peeping about the internet again! I miss the Beckett household (even though I know you hate it being called that).)

Moab is awesome. I've been to Grand Junction, CO (on the other side of the Colorado-Utah border) and it is awesome.

Just saw Pandora's Box - it's a silent film from 1929 just released on Criterion. It's all kinds of awesome and i COVET Louise Brooks' hair. I totally understand why every woman in America ran out and got the page-boy bob...

I fly out of Grand Junction! I am super excited about embracing my inner cowgirl. Any recommendations on places to go while we are there? I have a whole day off between the travels....

Did you find Pandora's Box on Netflix? I will have to add it. We are watching The Intruder next week. I wish you were here to come watch it with me :(

i've seen The Intruder. Daniel wouldn't watch it with me because he is a poop. It is VERY confusing - messes with time/dreams etc. It's one movie that I wish I had researched more before I watched because I was really lost.

OOh, that's right! I remember you telling me about it. I'll be sure to read up on it as much as possible so that I can marginally understand it.

Susan Miller's Astrozone. She does really great month long ones (as long as I remember to check them). They're usually fairly broad, but cover a variety of aspects of life (and she's usually not too far off).

Awwww, you're going to my motherland! Moab is about four hours from SLC, where I grew up. I used to go to Moab all the time, although I haven't been through there in almost five years. It's one of my favorite places on earth.

Supersupergood microbrews and pizza at Eddie McStiff's: http://www.eddiemcstiffs.com/

Moab Brewery is good too, but I like McStiff's beers better.

Delicious vittles at Slickrock cafe: http://www.slickrockcafe.com/

Breakfast at the Jailhouse Cafe is good, too. All of these places (plus many more) are all along the main drag. There are also tons of galleries and bookstores, and there is a kitschy t-shirt shop where a lady has lots of little Italian Greyhounds running around.

I'm so jealous of your roadtrip! Blow a kiss to the desert for me!

Also... the Moab-La Sal Scenic Loop drive is stunning, and doesn't take too long. http://www.moabadventurecenter.com/sightseeing/lasalloop.php

Wow! I never would have guessed that the city would have so many recommendations!

(And if it weren't for the fact it's about 5 hours, I really wanted to go up to Park City. Alas, I only have like.. a day and half in Moab before coming back :( )
