aftermath

It's been raining for three days now. The worst of Irene was kind enough to pass us by, though we now have enough kindling to fill every empty box we had in the garage, but now Tropical Storm Lee is dumping an abundance of rain on us, too. We keep trying to convince it that Texas could use it more, but storms never seem to listen to me ( Read more... )

I'm sending sunny weather wishes your way! You don't need any more critters or birds to take care of.

We were lucky and Irene didn't bother us too much. In fact, our high water seems to have made the local otters very happy. Every time it rains (again), Mom and her pups go swimming and diving along the edges of the river catching fish and crawdads.

I'm glad Irene was kind to you, too. The damage shown on tv was so upsetting. My heart goes out to all affected.

Thank you for the sunny wishes :) I would love to watch the otters. It's been a long time since we've seen any. Give them a smile for me, okay?

I'll give them a smile, but I think they'd prefer a fish :)

So sad. This rain has caused so much devastation. I hope it stops and everything dries out soon.

I hear you. So many animals just can't get out of the way when disaster strikes. I have no doubt that the babies we received were only a fraction of the number that actually came down in the storm. They were the ones lucky enough to be found right away.

Looks like the sun is finally beginning to break through today - Yay! We wound up with a total of eight inches of rain here and experienced some minor flooding in the house, but it's nothing compared to the major happenings elsewhere. It will be good to be dry again :)
