1)  After several days of re-conditioning in a large flight pen, spouse took both owls previously discussed back to their point of origin and said Hasta la vista, babies! He was able to open the door of Owl One's carrier because she was the more mellow of the two. He didn't dare do that with Owl Two. She would have been instantly in his face. Both ( Read more... )

It's irrelevant and doesn't answer you question. But, as an aside, the Owl is my spirit guide.

Thank you for all you do for those who cannot speak for themselves. Your work is a blessing.

No answer necessary. lol. I think Owl is a fabulous totem, a great one for a writer to have :)

I'm not really sure who mine is, but I wouldn't mind if they would be willing to work with me from time to time.

Wow! Love those owl pictures. I saw owls once at feeding time in the London Zoo. It kind of freaked me out, but I couldn't stop watching. They are such amazing creatures.
I think what's most precious to me this holiday season is that my sister is coming for the week. She lives in rural Montana, and I live in NYC. So a visit is a big deal. We're going to have lots of fun.

They really are amazing, and so smart. A lady brought us an injured owl once and in the course of the conversation said most of them were dumb as posts. I was kind of shocked, not only because she said that right in front of the poor bird, but also because they've always struck us as highly intelligent. We always treat them as if they totally understand everything we say to them. They seem to respond in kind and often get some amazing cooperation.

Wishing you a fabulous visit with your sister! :)

I especially love being able to reunite them with their mates (if they have one.) It's something we fret about.

A man who brought us a little screech last year told us how the little screech's mate sat in a tree by the road where he'd been hit and called and called every night for over a week. He said it such a heart-rending sound. We were so glad to be able to take him back to her once he'd recovered.
