Atlanta was very hot. There were a lot of hotels, restaurants, and not much else. (My mother was rather shocked by the Hooters waitresses standing outside in their uniforms - I don't think she's ever seen orange booty shorts before). Some decent sushi and pretty nice people, though we didn't really get a chance to explore very far ( Read more... )

I've never been up to Atlanta for an extended period of time, just passed through when moving back and forth, so I wasn't aware that was pretty much all there was up there...sounds a tad disappointing, especially with the display of orange booty shorts.

It sounds like you did really well to me, and since you said you were pitted against higher ranking fencers, its really impressive!

I would like to say more, but I don't know what a 'pool' is when it comes to fencing, or much of those things. :( I'm glad things seem to have gone well ('cept for the idiot referee) and that the people were nice.

Sounds rather astounding to me actually.

I didn’t mind the booty-shorts. The expression on my mom’s face was rather…memorable, shall we say?

Aw, thank you ^^

A pool is like the preliminaries for the tournament, deciding who you fence one-on-one in the DE rounds. I wrote up an more detailed explanation here a while back, if you’d like to look.

Ahh...yes heh. I can easily imagine as my mother (and I) would likely both were something similar if we saw a hooter's worker.

Oh, I think I understand what you mean, but I'll take a look at the link too. So thank you. I like reading about these sorts of things, and understanding it would...help. ^^

Oh geez, I didn't even think of that. Sorry >.>

Mhmm, yes, I will. And thank you, Suz, you're the sweetest.
