Per the_moonmoth's suggestion, here I present the fandom review of 2012 as it pertained to me. Also posted to my tumblr.

1. Your main fandom of the year

A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones, at least in regards to time spent in it.

I don't watch Once Upon a Time but i do keep updated on Rumbelle and I was also grinning and watching more than once the hamburger date! It was awesome!! Robert Carlyle is an excellent actor. Loved his acting skills in Hitler the Rise of Evil, and he made me laugh in Full Moonty. Dynaic man!
And i miss the Harru Potter fandom as well :)

I picked up OUAT because some people I follow on Tumblr kept making posts about the show and Rumbelle and I thought it looked great and got hooked up... And then I started to follow Rumbelle people on Tumblr only to find a lot of them ship SanSan, too.

As for Robert Carlyle, he was the sole reason I picked up Stargate: Universe. I left Stargate fandom years ago and had no particular desire to return but this series and mainly Bobby reminded me of just why I used to love it so much. Full Monty was a very funny movie even if the accents were sometimes hard to understand.

As for Harry Potter, I have yet to see the last two movies. I am also kind of scared to go back to HP fanfics because I have no idea what kind of thing is trending right now and the possibility of being pissed off by how things are perceived is too great. As I'm getting older, I'm becoming too set in my opinions...

Oh I know right!! It happened to me as well on tumblr- must be something about the Beauty & the Beast "thing" that attracts us all to these couples :D
I haven't seen Stargate but I wouldn't be surprised that he was excellent in that as well x)

Aa no, you must watch the last movies! they are really great- i was crying all the time during the last one :p but i understand about fanfics. i only stick with one in the HP fandom cause i've been following it for two years now, and it's about Sev & Lily at school so yeah, only stick with them now

I enjoyed reading your retrospective and agreed with you on several points, most especially Maiko. I'll be checking out Friction for sure. :)
