The fairest possible solution would be fractal. If you voted Remain, your building (or at least your apartment or perhaps your side of the bed) remains in the EU. If you voted Leave, it is in the UK only. It is true the border will be complex. But computers are good for that sort of thing.
That's a Ken MacLeod novel, with some very odd borders, including one separating the London Tube station platforms and tracks from the area outside the fare barriers.
There's already a petition out there to split off London. Personally I find the Little Londoners as unattractive as the Little Englanders, since both are voting for a 'safe zone' where they can avoid contact with people who aren't their clones.
