Oh Oh Oh My God. Fic from mirabile_dictu. It's like a lifeline, or someting. ::clings:: I'm going to read it right now--just wanted you to know that that was my initial reaction. I don't care if it's not happy or if they're yong or old, seeing fic from you is like walking past a Borders and seeing a new book by my favorite author except that I never know when it's coming, it's like this delighted "ooh, I didn't know she had something in the works!" Ok, enough rambling, I'm off!

There are so many incredible moments in this, and they're spaced and weighted so carefully. There's so many things I wish I could articulate about why I love it. Did you ever read Slaughterhouse Five? There's a moment in it where Kurt Vonnegut's character is talking about planning to write teh book, how it will have all these different plot threads, and he maps it out for himself in crayons on the back of an old piece of wallpaper. But when he's done and he takes his hands off of it the wall paper springs shut, and all the lines cross over eachother, and he realizes that that's how it really is. So, all the threads of this fic are hidden, almost, I can't see them clearly because they've made one cloth, but I know there are moments of special weight, like if I could see the threads there'd be moments where they'd cross and the node that they made there would be heavier than the rest of the story, but not to pull it down, only to anchor it ( ... )

Thank you! You picked out some of my favorite moments, too. You can probably tell that I really get off imagining the Fellowship together, just hanging out. I love that idea so much -- even the word "fellowship" charms me.

But I also crave a structured story, something that goes someplace. And where better to take a story than to Dom and Bill reuniting?

I'm so glad you liked it. Thank you very much!

Ach, now I'll be worried about every future post, that it'll disappoint you. But thank you! And I feel the same way about your stories, which I hope you already know or I have been remiss.

...Wow. *deep breath*

I finally feel like I can breathe now; I have this habit of hodling my breath whenever I read something by you as I get so wrapped up in it...and this was no exception. I stayed up far too late to read this, and I'm sorry if this is a little incoherent, but I had to say something.

I loved this. Sneaky Elijah! I loved how you characterized the Fellowship's relationships, and the Astin girls! *squee* They were perfect. Everyone was perfect. This was perfect. And I really should go to bed now as I'm rambling.

Thank you for this.

Sneaky Elijah is one of my favorite characterizations of him; I'm so glad you liked it. And I think your "rambling" is delightful. Thank you!

*settles in*

Oh, your Viggo makes me so happy. I love Viggo best when he's written this way, without pretense or too much abstraction. It's a fine line, but you tote it just right.

Billy + Astins = love.

Both of them, Billy thought, had been starved as children: starved for affection and physical touch. Since they'd met, it was as if they'd recognized each other as different from the others, particularly from Dom who was still the beloved baby of his charmed family.

Is that ever perfect.
