IT'S TOO HOT TO SLEEP. I have two fans going and just got out of a cool bath, plus there's a glass of iced tea AND a glass of lemonade on my night stand to keep me cool. Also a damp towel to drape over my décolletage

When I lived in Trinidad, we did not have air. You get used to it after a time, but the one thing we did, especially at first, was take cool showers right before bed and put the fan directly in front of us at the foot of the bed. Cool washclothes could be put on the back of our necks. Hope that turns around soon!
Yes, I like a cool bath just before bed; it really helps. Also just dipping your feet in cool water seems to bring down the temperature really well. But oh, how I long for a/c on nights like these.
I'm in L.A. and we're in the middle of a week of 100 degree weather. My portable air conditioner sucks a liter of water out of the air every two hours. In Los Angeles in September. Fullerton is on fire and there were catastrophic flash floods in Victorville yesterday. Climate change? What climate change?

I saw that LA is suffering from the same hot spell as we are up here. How miserable! I didn't know about Fullerton, though it looks as though the fire is finally being contained. What wild weather. As you say: what climate change? *bitter laugh*

Oh lawdy, right there with you! My poor wheezing A/C can't get the bedroom down below 85°F anymore. Two more days (and nights) until the one I've ordered comes in... :(
