Hermione didn't mean to be short, but sometimes she was. She did have her soft moments though.

Glancing around to find his favorite chair, he was disheartened to see it occupied... by possibly the largest stack of books he'd ever seen off the shelves.
"Bloody hell, Hermione, that looks like all the books in my old dorm stacked on top of one another. You know, graduating won't do you much good if you kill yourself trying to get there."
