Wow thanks, really. I'm torn between feeling sorry I seem to make people cry with this story and kinda happy because it means I've managed to convery my feelings writing it (I was teary-eyed myself).

Merlin doesn't merely use magic. He's magic, magic is part of him, so I've always imagined that his magic would react to how he feels. With experience he can master those reactions but they're still there.
